    Shabbot shalom,
How this piece will affect you is not in my hands. I hope it’s wisdom does have its good effect. Otherwise we remain more dangerously asleep then we had before we read it. We either respond to our first nature, and dig in our heals to not move, or we meditate, asking favor from our engaging LORD, our Father, as to our right part in the encroaching war that is more boldly consuming the world politic with bloody results.
To each one of us a response, wisely guided by His Spirit, is required, and you will know that a response is in no uncertain terms required as you read this man’s observations of the certain and consistent diabolical results that occur upon our necks by our personal responses. Each one of us, to prevent the occurring encroach of violence is called on to engage in this war wisely.
Thus the future is not in leaders hands, but in our own. Have we not heard, that when good men do nothing, we encourage violence against the innocent? There is no face sitting, as this article shouts from the roof top. To think otherwise we remain as given over to our enemies as did the fallen who took no heed before us.
What therefore is our part? If we can not ask that question without full reverence in light of our maker, of what are we but spent salt waiting to be trodden under, as the billions who continued in intoxicating inertia- the deadly drug, our enemies ever succeed by, “when good men do nothing”. Eventually only Maker, He, like our enemy, never sleeps, can help those whose talents are purposefully not buried by our default mode, our violent indifference. Sleep is hate in this war as in all wars. Our avoidance is a hateful purposed response.
Love in His purpose, for our re-engagement for that is the only thing that love looks like,
Someone else wrote of this man’s observations in part,

“This is one of the best explanations of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read. His references to past history are accurate and clear- (by) Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist. A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.”
‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care.
I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost
control, and the end of the world had come.’

‘My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies
    destroyed my factories.’ ”
‘We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is a
religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in
peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely
irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff meant to make us feel better, and meant to
somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name
    of Islam.’

‘The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the
fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting
wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or
tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire
continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or
honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the
fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and
homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become
    suicide bombers.’
‘The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ‘silent
majority,’ is cowed and extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of
Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were
responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.’

‘The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering
sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an
orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery? Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

‘History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers
of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:
peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving
Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend
from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and
the end of their world will have begun.’

‘Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans,
Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died
because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.’
‘Now Islamic prayers have been introduced in Toronto and other public
schools in Ontario , and, yes, in Ottawa , too, while the Lord’s
Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?). The Islamic way may be
peaceful for the time being in our country until the fanatics move in.’

‘In Australia , and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the most
commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just look at the
back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at other food items in your
local supermarket. Food on aircraft have the halal emblem just to appease the
privileged minority who are now rapidly expanding within the nation’s shores.’
‘In the U.K, the Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens
of “no-go” zones within major cities across the country that the police force
dare not intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the Muslim
community in those areas refuse to acknowledge British law.’

‘As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that
counts – the fanatics who threaten our way of life.’

    Lastly,
anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email
without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the
    problems to expand.

    Extend
yourself a bit and send this on. Let us hope that thousands world-wide
read this, think about it, and send it on before it’s too late, and we are
    silenced because we were silent!!!

Drought? Piped Irrigation, Tailwater FC , BMP

In response to three (3) questions on BMP for Dungeness drought irrigation water.

Asked after the Sequim Community Drought Forum

    ——————————————————————–

When we have irrigation water coming from the river into the irrigation pipes past our house and I don’t use it so it just keeps flowing down hill till someone does use it,

but what happens if it doesn’t get used?

Does it just dump out in the sound like the river does?

Or is there an end to the pipe?

    —————————————————-

    Great drought questions. Complicated answer.

A statistical evaluation of the effectiveness of best management practice BMPs from Task 2

(i.e. IRRIGATION PIPING and septic system repairs) for remediating FECAL COLIFORM (FC) BACTERIA.

    ———————————————————————-

Piping irrigation ditches is considered a best management practice (BMP) for water conservation by preventing conveyance losses.

Since the water conveyance system is enclosed in a pipe, the possibility of contaminants (fecal coliform (FC)) entering the system is greatly reduced, and if the pipeline is closed at the end, there is no spilling of excess tailwater at the downstream end of the irrigation system

Monitoring for the effectiveness of irrigation piping was problematic in the sense that downstream samples could not be collected in most cases since the source water was eliminated.

    (all used for irrigating?)

At one downstream location, the tailwater from a bluff ditch station (IRR-3) that emptied into the Bay was monitored after piping was complete because regulations required that a stormwater conveyance ditch be reconstructed above the pipe to continue to convey runoff.

After piping, the fecal coliform FC concentration in the stormwater runoff conveyance was not significantly different than before the piping.

Further analysis examined the impact of piping on tailwater discharge into Dungeness Bay,

comparing data before and after the piping at three marine monitoring sites located near the freshwater bluff ditch sites. While this was statistically significant,

it has little meaning from a water quality improvement standpoint.

A number of benefits of irrigation piping can clearly be demonstrated such as water conservation, reduced ditch maintenance and efficient water delivery,

However, the empirical evidence of reduction in fecal coliform FC was not clearly apparent from this study.

     http://www.jamestowntribe.org/programs/nrs/FINAL_EM_RPT%28Oct_09%29v_2.pdf

Since the water conveyance system is enclosed in a pipe, the possibility of contaminants entering the system is greatly reduced, and if the pipeline is closed at the end, there is no spilling of excess tailwater at the downstream end of the irrigation system

Monitoring for the effectiveness of irrigation piping was problematic in the sense that downstream samples could not be collected in most cases since the source water was eliminated. Median concentrations from the two upstream stations were 10 and 128 CFU/100 ml.

One marine station, DOH-110 was significantly different before and after piping. However, the geometric mean at this site before piping

was 7 CFU/100 ml and after the piping was 4 CFU/100 ml. While this was statistically significant, it has little meaning from a water quality improvement standpoint.

A number of benefits of irrigation piping can clearly be demonstrated such as water conservation, reduced ditch maintenance and efficient water delivery, however the empirical evidence of reduction in fecal coliform FC was not clearly apparent from this study.

In the case where an irrigation ditch was piped to eliminate tailwater, but the piped ditch closely coupled the path of a stormwater runoff conveyance into the Bay, the benefits were reduced.

However, the potential source of contamination to this ditch is from a much smaller geographic area than prior to piping when several miles of open irrigation ditch led to this discharge location

A statistical evaluation of the effectiveness of BMPs from Task 2(i.e. irrigation piping and septic system repairs)for remediating fecal coliform bacteria. The my core mediation best management practice BMP effectiveness is discussed in a separate report (Thomas et al. 2009)

The overall results of this study have not shown an improvement in surface water quality with respect to fecal coliform bacteria in the Dungeness watershed or Dungeness Bay within the last 10 years. However, water quality conditions have not declined within the watershed either.

This is notable when considering the population within the  Dungeness watershed has steadily increased during this time period.

In fact, asking your three short questions was the prelude to the following.

Finding the answer was a bit more complicated. It took several hours of research going from one website to another.

However, it was time well spent, in connecting the dots, many vital failures of public notification shall now become open, transparent and someone must be held accountable.

In one of the following documents the FAILURE OF DUE PROCESS, failure of legal requirements for public notification of public meetings was mentioned and what remedial actions must be taken to comply with the WA State Public Meeting Act.

This documented information of PUBLIC MEETINGS without legal, public notification, participation and public comment  SPANS A VERY LONG PERIOD IN TIME.

  • She Knows the Issues

From Marguerite, a VIP that knows the Dungeness Water issues.

Kaj’s Questions and answers have been posted separately.

Hi, Everybody, click on the attachment, if you want to see Ecology’s answers to some questions that Kaj Ahlburg asked, about the Water Rule and the Water Exchange. Did anyone know that Stock Watering would NOT be included in the Basic or Extended Outdoor Package? Here is the question:
Do both the Basic and Extended Outdoor packages include permission for stock watering?

    A. If yes, what, if any, limits are there on the stock watering permitted?

    B. If not, how does one obtain permission for stock watering?

    And, here is the answer:

Stockwatering is not included in any of the standard water use packages. It will be necessary to contact the Exchange to arrange for mitigation water for stock.

This means that we do NOT know how much it will cost, to obtain water to give to cows or goats or sheep or llamas, etc., to drink. We don’t even know if it is available. Pretty sad. Do you think those tanks of water being filled from wells, are impacting the River and the streams, in the critical fish period? The biggest impact on the small streams was the piping of the irrigation ditches.

Daily, properties with irrigation rights are going up in value. Properties with no ability to obtain outside water, are going down in value.

    Dear Sir/Madam:
I am writing on behalf of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington (“BCHW”) to
provide BCHW’s comments on the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge Draft Comprehensive
Conservation Plan and Environmental Assessment dated November 2012 (“Draft CCP/EA”).
The Service’s proposal to ban horseback riding in the Dungeness NWR due to the perceived risk
it creates for pedestrians is a very, very significant determination that not only excludes
equestrians from the Dungeness NWR but may also set a far-reaching but invalid precedent for
public trails nationwide. Accordingly, BCHW’s members as well as all equestrians have a lot at
    stake in this process.
BCHW very much appreciates the opportunity to provide these comments on the Draft
CCP/EA and looks forward to fully participating in this crucial process for determining how the
Dungeness NWR shall be managed for the next 15 years and how trails on our public lands can

Wow! Outstanding crop of LTEs in this morning’s PDN.

Great LTE by Tom Cox of Sequim RE the crazy notion that if we just get the guns out of the hands of those honest citizens – all would be well. I especially like his last paragraph:

“This country is the greatest in the history of man and it didn’t just happen. It developed out of the spirit of free men, not the minds of insolent elitists masquerading as societal revolutionaries.”

Excellent short one by Liz Phelps which points out that the “enviros” worry about horses on the spit but don’t worry about the primary pollutant which is bird poop.

Very good LTE by Dan O’Rourke in which he talks about the mass murder of not- yet- born children. He quotes Mother Teresa that it is a “poverty”. Of course, it is a poverty of spirit.

Also an excellent LTE by Robert MacDonald (Port Ludlow) denoting a response to the straw poll taken about the MLK “holliday” which claims we are all just a bunch of “thick headed old white guys”. This “Thick headed old white guy” keeps remembering Dr. King’s true hope that one day a man would be “judged by his character – not the color of his skin”. Yet the brown-skinned guy we have in the White House and his brown-skinned AG do not seem to adhere to that idea and keep judging by skin color – not character.

But, I gotta wonder how come all these excellent LTEs weren’t published on a Friday or a Sunday when more people actually take time to read the newspaper?

  • Look Who’s Talking – West Nile Virus

    Look Who’s Talking…emails
This quantifies the risks of West Nile Virus. It uses a technique of reassigning blame to convenient targets. The Low Accountability MEdia-Low Information Press (LAME-LIP) frequently use this gambit to indoctrinate and brainwash us.

The Robin and English Sparrow (or house sparrow) are abundant birds to assign blame. Instead of identifying swamps, stagnant water, and sensitive wetlands as prime mosquito habitat, they conveniently assign blame to orchards and vineyards.

We are purposely being deluged with BS by the LAME-LIP. We need to be less gullible and more sophisticated in response to this purposeful assault of our lives and future. (This example seems like a pretty innocent use of the technique.)

West Nile Virus Spreading Due to Mosquitoes in Orchards and Vineyards, Experts Warn
Jan. 30, 2013 — Washington State University researchers have linked orchards and vineyards with a greater prevalence of West Nile virus in mosquitoes and the insects’ ability to spread the virus to birds, horses and people.

The finding, reported in the latest issue of the journal PLOS ONE, is the most finely scaled look at the interplay between land use and the virus’s activity in key hosts. By giving a more detailed description of how the disease moves across the landscape, the study opens the door to management efforts that might bring the disease under control, says David Crowder, a WSU entomologist and the paper’s lead author.

In case you have not already the most recent regarding HB 1164 and HB 1167, Senate Bill 5011 (SB 5011 – 2013-14).

I emailed Rene’ last night to find out what we should be doing and was pleased to find Sue’s email this morning regarding these anti-Agenda 21 Bills. I called Eric Petigrew’s office (as advised) and was told HB 1164 is in the Judiciary Committee. HB 1167 is in the Local Government Committee. SB 5011 was referred to the Senate Law and Justice Committee. I couldn’t reach Rep. Shea’s staff. I called Rep. Overstreet’s office and was told “yes” we should call all committee members. As we can see from the lists below, the Dems are the majority on House committees. We can do this. “Let’s get this done!”

  • Look Who’s Talking – Wilderness

    Wilderness
Having had all my correspondence to the govt. in the past, fall on deaf ears…………….

Maybe I’ll try again……….in support of these other citizens who’ve written with concerns.

I was insulted to read the article in the Peninsula Daily News (1-28-2013)that excluded all us local peons from public hearings, on the ONP Wilderness Plan, especially by the well paid management that distributes all our tax dollars

    YES!
Make the Seattleites & Silverdalians drive over HERE! The gymnasium in Quilcene is quite big (sufficient to handle an angry, frustrated crowd of unemployed tax-paying, voting citizens, being nickled & dimed to death to pay for all the grants the Dept. of Ecology and others hand out like political lapel buttons.) Jobs are non-existent, but the people lucky enough to own/work at hotels, restaurants, gas stations, would LOVE to have your business overnight………meaning YOU come HERE. YOU work for US.

We LIVE on said Peninsula, we ARE responsible stewards of our land over here. (I’m sure I was respecting the OlyPen wilderness long before some of you were even born, or even moved to WA.)

BUT if you want to pay our high gas prices and ferry fares to reach your PUBLIC workshops (we ARE the public) just send me a check made out to Ellen Grus, 1030 Dabob Rd. Quilcene WA 98376.
(I’ve already rationed my February retirement allowance to cover my medical payment to the United Healthcare Extortion Dept. & CenturyLink’s slug-speed DSL @ the high-speed price.)

I’d say Quilcene’s about half way between Brinnon, Chimacum, Pt. Townsend, Marrowstone Island………..we could/would even be willing to car pool to Sequim, if a mtg. there would benefit the people along the Strait, from Disco Bay to P.A.

I/we REALLY don’t see the need for a panel of 5(6?) people to feel inconvenienced because of a few hundred local residents who’d like to show up, do you?

. . . And still no meeting for any location in Jefferson County, the only county that is completely divided by the Olympic National Park, and arguably the most impacted county on the Peninsula since there’s never been the opportunity for a road or utility corridor between eastern and western Jefferson County.
I agree that if people who live in Seattle and Silverdale want to participate in person in this process, they can drive to one of the meetings on the Peninsula. I suspect those venues (population centers) were chosen because many of the entries in the visitor logs were from those areas.
If they found the place once, I for one think they can probably find it again.
