Ann Corcoran from  Refugee Resettlement Watch has pointed out…

That  while, websites had some inaccuracies, the basic thrust of the reports was truethat a little white girl was sexually assaulted by Muslim migrants, likely refugees.

“They got the nationality wrong and a couple of other minor points, but it was otherwise spot on,” Corcoran said.

My code name is “Pearl Revere”
This blog is all about US, “We the People”.

I had hoped that setting up a blog would give “We the people” a condensed running forum, a day by day, blow by blow account from ANY American, State, County, city citizens that had knowledge or concerns?

Where anyone could go, read, find out, relate, expose, share and comment on anything.

FEAR OF TERRORISM IN IDAHO WAS  IN FACT A QUESTION,  based on an email of concern I received, that there was a cover-up in Idaho of the gang rape of a four year old girl?

My inaccuracy, now identified as a five year old girl.

Before every Posting I research, document, document, document.

However, it has been pointed out that the  post below had some inaccuracies.

     ‘Nobody should be stunned’

But nobody should be “stunned” by a criminal report involving refugees, says Ann Corcoran, who has been following the refugee program for the past nine years with the blog Refugee Resettlement Watch.

While the original report by Infowars, bloggers and other “conspiracy”

websites had some inaccuracies, the basic thrust of their reports was truethat a little white girl was sexually assaulted by Muslim migrants, likely refugees.

“They got the nationality wrong and a couple of other minor points, but it was otherwise spot on,” Corcoran said.

“And, there is no doubt that if local residents, criticized by their elected officials, hadn’t pushed this story out to the public, with a few small errors like the nationalities of the perps, the whole case would have been swept under the rug,” she said. “Heck, the assault took place almost three weeks ago!”

CAIR says investigate sexual assault in Twin Falls, Idaho; case is a lightning rod

Posted by Ann Corcoran on June 23, 2016

This is what CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said this morning on CAIR’s facebook page:

‪#‎CAIR: Idaho prosecutor denies Syrian refugees gang-raped girl (Reuters)

Anti-Muslim agitators and those opposed to resettlement of refugees from the Syrian civil war nevertheless seized on the incident to buttress their arguments for shutting down a refugee center in Twin Falls to prevent entry by displaced Syrians…

Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the Idaho sexual assault should be fully investigated but added the case had become a lightning rod for anti-Muslim, and anti-refugee sentiments.

“These two forms of hostility seem to be overlapping and reinforcing each other,” he said.

The families of the boys who are alleged to have sexually assaulted a five year old girl in Twin Falls have received eviction notices from the landlord of the Fawnbrook Apartments.  BTW, this Idaho Statesman story does admit one of the boys touched the girl and it is described as a criminal act.  (See eviction letter here)

See also, several updates at the World Net Daily story, here, about the case (including new photo).

    www.nytimes.com/…/middleeast/un-general-assembly…
    The New York Times
4 days ago – PRESIDENT OBAMA’S SPEECH TO THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2015 SEPT. 28 2015 … and criticized other western states’ policies in the Middle East. … “Let’s remember how this started,” Mr. Obama said of the Syria conflict.
UNITED NATIONS — The leaders of the United States and Russia traded blunt criticisms on Monday at the United Nations, essentially blaming each other for the catastrophic war in Syria and the refugee crisis it helped to spawn.
The speeches of President Obama, followed more than an hour later by President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, dominated the opening of the annual General Assembly of world leaders.
MR. OBAMA MADE A FORCEFUL DEFENSE OF DIPLOMACY BUT ALSO CASTIGATED RUSSIA BY NAME MULTIPLE TIMES IN HIS SPEECH FOR ITS DEFENSE OF THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT, its takeover of Crimea and its actions supporting Ukrainian rebels.
“Dangerous currents risk pulling us back into a darker, more disordered world,” Mr. Obama said.
Those currents include major powers that want to ignore international rules AND IMPOSE ORDER THROUGH FORCE OF MILITARY POWER, HE SAID.
“In accordance with this logic, we should support tyrants like Bashar al-Assad who drops barrel bombs to massacre innocent civilians because the alternative is surely worse,” he said in comments that seemed to be aimed directly at Mr. Putin.
In what amounted to a basic rebuttal of Mr. Obama, the Russian leader extolled the Syrian leader, saying that he represented stability and that his forces needed support to fight the Islamic State extremists now threatening the region — even though Mr. Assad’s forces are for the most part fighting rebel groups dedicated to his ouster, not the Islamic State militants.
“We think it’s an enormous mistake to refuse to cooperate with the Syrian government and its armed forces who are valiantly fighting terrorism face to face,” Mr. Putin said.
But Mr. Putin, in what appeared to be a step to outmaneuver Mr. Obama on Syria, also spoke of creating “a genuinely broad international coalition” to fight the Islamic State, including a Security Council resolution to “coordinate” military action.
How the United States and its allies will respond to such an idea is unclear. But President François Hollande of France, speaking to reporters later, welcomed the idea of a “broad coalition” and even a Security Council resolution as long as two conditions were met: a stop to the bombings and a “political transition with departure of Assad.” Mr. Hollande did not elaborate on exactly when Mr. Assad would have to leave.
In remarks about foreign Islamic State fighters that seemed clearly aimed at stoking fears in Europe, Mr. Putin said: “We cannot allow these criminals who have already felt the smell of blood to return back home and continue their evil doings. No one wants this to happen, does he?”
Mr. Putin did not hear Mr. Obama speak — the Russian leader had just arrived in New York from Moscow. But the tensions between the two are well known. In a deft bit of diplomacy, Secretary General Ban Ki-moon sat in between them during a lunch he hosted for a number of top leaders.
In his toast, Mr. Ban, invoking the saying “There is no such thing as a free lunch,” exhorted his guests to help the United Nations reach the new Sustainable Development Goals for eliminating extreme poverty and hunger by 2030.
Mr. Obama and Mr. Putin clinked glasses after Mr. Ban’s toast.
In his own toast, Mr. Obama praised Mr. Ban and said “We are facing extraordinary challenges today, ones that test our capacity to work together.”
Later in the afternoon Mr. Obama and Mr. Putin posed for photographers before a long-awaited private meeting between the two, which lasted for 95 minutes. They shook hands at the start but made no comments, and the details of their discussions were not immediately disclosed.
In his earlier speech, Mr. Obama also chided China for its expansions in the South China Sea and Iran for its support of Mr. Assad, as well as the broader anti-American messages that emanate from the Iranians.
“Chanting ‘Death to America’ does not create jobs, or make Iran more secure,” Mr. Obama said.
Mr. Obama said that he was realistic, but he said realism had to take into account the brutality of the Assad government in Syria, where war has raged for more than four years.
“Let’s remember how this started,” Mr. Obama said of the Syria conflict. “Assad reacted to peaceful protest by escalating repression and killing and in turn created the environment for the current strife.”
Such violence makes it impossible for the vast majority of Syria’s population to accept Mr. Assad as their leader, Mr. Obama said.
Similarly, Mr. Obama said, a fidelity to international rules required that the United States respond forcefully to Russia’s intervention in Crimea and Ukraine. He said that the United States had few economic interests in the region and understood the long history that Russia had with Crimea and Ukraine.
“But we cannot stand by when the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a nation is flagrantly violated.” He added: “That’s the basis of the sanctions that the United States and our partners imposed on Russia. It’s not a desire to return to the Cold War.”
MR. OBAMA TOLD THE INTERNATIONAL BODY THAT HE COMMANDS THE MOST POWERFUL MILITARY FORCE ON THE PLANET. But no matter how powerful its military or strong its economy, the United States could not solve the world’s problems on its own, he said.
He pointed to the war in Iraq where, despite sending more than 100,000 troops and spending trillions of dollars, the United States was unsuccessful in stabilizing the country.
MR. OBAMA EXTOLLED THE DIPLOMATIC COURSE IN WHICH THE UNITED STATES AND OTHER WORLD POWERS had successfully negotiated a nuclear agreement with Iran. And, in one of the first lines to yield cheers, he said that the United States had finally acknowledged that its posture toward Cuba had been wrong and that under his watch, diplomatic relations had been restored.
“As these contacts yield progress, I’m confident that our Congress will inevitably lift an embargo that should not be in place anymore,” he said to cheers. “Change won’t come overnight to Cuba but I’m confident that openness not coercion will support the reforms and better the life that the Cuban people deserve.”
MR. OBAMA MADE A FORCEFUL CASE FOR DEMOCRACY AND POINTED OUT THAT “DICTATORSHIPS ARE UNSTABLE.”
“You can jail your opponents but you can’t imprison ideas,” he said.
President Xi Jinping of China, speaking later in the day, reiterated what he called the Chinese priority of peace and stability for its economic development. He also demonstrated China’s enormous financial influence by announcing a $1 billion fund for the United Nations, and said his country would create a permanent standby peacekeeping contingent of 8,000 police and troops in case it is needed by the world body.
Despite a swooning Russian economy and Western condemnation of Russia’s takeover of Crimea and intervention in Ukraine, MR. PUTIN SEEMS TO HAVE SURPRISED THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WITH AN INTELLIGENCE-SHARING ALLIANCE WITH IRAQ, SYRIA AND IRAN ABOUT THE ISLAMIC STATE MILITANT GROUP THAT OCCUPIES PARTS OF SYRIA AND IRAQ.
The Russians and Americans even squabbled in recent days over who asked whom for the meeting between the two presidents.
Mr. Putin has said that Mr. Assad is a vital bulwark against the Islamic State; Mr. Obama has said that Mr. Assad must leave before the conflict in Syria can be resolved.
President Hassan Rouhani of Iran, in his speech, offered to help to “bring about democracy” in the two conflicts where it has influence, in Syria and Iran, even as he signaled his support for the Russian notion of a Security Council resolution.
“We propose that the fight against terrorism be incorporated into a binding international document and no country be allowed to use terrorism for the purpose of intervention in the affairs of other countries,” Mr. Rouhani said.
Mr. Obama was the first in a line of speakers from the big powers scheduled to speak at the 70th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, where the Syria conflict and its consequences — the spread of Islamic State jihadism and the surge of refugees into Europe — were dominant themes.
In opening the General Assembly, Mr. Ban struck a somber tone, asserting that: “Inequality is growing, TRUST IS FADING, AND IMPATIENCE WITH LEADERSHIP CAN BE SEEN AND FELT FAR AND WIDE.”
The remarks by Mr. Ban, who is approaching his last year as the secretary general, were unusually pointed.
He called to leaders to not stay in power beyond their constitutional terms in office, pressed permanent members of the Security Council to put aside their divisions, called explicitly for an “end to bombings” in Yemen, and named the five countries that, as he said, “hold the key” to peace in Syria: Russia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey.
Mr. Ban said 100 million civilians are in need of aid, for which the United Nations has pleaded for $20 billion. He rebuked the rich for not giving more, giving examples: One third of what the organization needs for Syria and Iraq has been received and for Gambia, whose children are among the hungriest in the world, nothing has come in.
He stepped up his criticism of countries that shut their borders to refugees. “I urge Europe to do more,” reminding the Continent’s leaders that “after the Second World War it was Europeans seeking assistance.”
He marked two pieces of good news. He praised the nuclear pact that the world powers reached with Iran. And with some relief, he noted that the world had come together to stop the Ebola virus from spreading.
President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil, who was the first to speak, scolded those countries that have tried to prohibit refugees fleeing conflicts in the Middle East, pointing out that Brazil hosts Syrians and Haitians now as it opened the doors to Europeans and Asians a century ago. “In a world where goods, capital, data and ideas flow freely, it is absurd to impede the free flow of people,” she said.

FEBRUARY 26, 2013, THE HOUSE SUBCOMMITTEE ON PUBLIC LANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION HELD A HEARING PRESIDED OVER BY NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN DOC HASTINGS (R-WASH.) that turns out to have been very relevant to the current burning issue of our national forest management. The subcommittee heard from a number of witnesses who testified concerning the superiority of state-managed forest lands versus the federally managed forests.
TRUTH ON FEBRUARY 26, 2013 REP. HASTINGS noted that the much smaller forests managed by Washington State “generate an average of $168 million annually, support construction of public elementary, middle school and high schools statewide, facilities at the state’s universities, and other state facilities and institutions.
TRUTH ON FEBRUARY 26, 2013 In comparison, THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING OVER 9 MILLION ACRES OF FOREST LAND contained within seven different national forests in the State of Washington, yet harvests just 2 percent of the new growth, yielding a four-year average of only $589,000 in revenue.”
TRUTH ON FEBRUARY 26, 2013 CHAIRMAN HASTINGS noted further:
Rather than offering all-too-familiar rhetoric of how complying with one federal law or another “costs too much,” IT’S TIME FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ADJUST HOW IT DOES BUSINESS, and honor its own STATUTORY RESPONSIBILITIES TO MANAGE THE FORESTS, INCLUDING ALLOWING SUFFICIENT TIMBER HARVESTS, THAT BENEFIT FORESTED COUNTIES AND THEIR SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS IMPROVE DECLINING FOREST HEALTH

NORTHWEST WILDFIRES AND THE ‘GREEN’ ENVIRONMENTALIST
Posted on September 8, 2014 by Capt. William E. Simpson

As I write this I am vexed by the fact that nearly 100,000 thousand acres of pristine forests are burning and nearly one-million acres of forest (public forests) have burned to the ground in and around the Pacific Northwest so far this year alone. The vast majority of these forests are publically owned and managed by Federal agencies under the overview of the EPA (http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2014/07/northwest_wildfires_more_than.html).
As a result of the flames, heat and smoke, thousands of forest animals have died and many others are suffering with severe injuries and their habitat is now long-gone. Wildfires are indiscriminate killers of endangered species, as well as numerous other species of birds and many other forest animals. It’s impossible to put an economic value on a forest full of life; but having said that; and simply from a renewable resource point of view, just the trees that have been lost had an economic (timber) value in excess of a billion dollars!
The EPA, BLM, U.S. Forestry and their environmentalist (‘Green’) support base claim that they want to preserve habitat and save endangered species, but by way of their own actions, policies and regulations, more habitat and species have been lost over the past decades under their management policies than were lost ever before, and are being lost, every year, year after year at an alarming rate!
Albert Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results…
So the question is why are we losing so much forest? And the answer is very simple… the forests are being mismanaged through the continued bungling-intervention of the EPA, the ‘environmentalists’ and the ‘green’ movement into the arena of forestry.
I know something about the subject of forests and forest management since I grew-up living, working, hunting and fishing in the area of the forests that are being consumed by these incredibly massive fires, which have become a recurring annual theme over the past two and a half decades since the intervention of the ‘environmentalist’ into the area for forest management practices. But who are these ‘environmentalists’ anyway.
Generally speaking (and there are exceptions), the ‘environmentalists’ who have taken an interest in controlling how our public forests are used don’t live in the forests, and they view the human race (you, me our families and friends) as less valuable and relevant than a frog, fish, or a tree. They are people who seem to lack an understanding of the principals of renewable manageable resources, and who have become activists against those who would use the public forests responsibly, having had relatively little (if any) time and relevant experience living in or working in our forests themselves. Many of them are aligned with the concepts and principals of the ‘progressive’ socialist movement. If you debate them, many of these same people will quickly remind you of their ‘degrees’, etc… In other words, they are telling you that they ‘know it all’, and certainly more than you. However, anyone who has successfully managed a forest knows (as is seen in privately owned and managed forests) that reading some books in college and going on a few field trips just doesn’t cut it; a piece of paper hanging on the wall is no substitute for actual experience that is gained over many generations of successful forest management. No more so than someone trying to be a farmer with the same token experience… it just doesn’t work.
And coincidentally, many of the books that some universities are using in their forestry programs are authored by some of the same ‘green’ environmentalist forest managers who have had a hand in developing the current failed forest management polices as applied over the past two decades; just look what’s happening! Books and lectures simply cannot teach common sense or instill the on-the-ground experience that loggers and foresters develop over the span of their lives, and through generation after generation of families working in the woods. There’s just no debating when it comes to the contrast between the current recurring disaster management model, and the past successes in forest management with sustainable and renewable timber harvests, combined with abundant wildlife habitat; without the mammoth annual fires we are experiencing today.
Here (the link just below) is an important (precedent example) of how proper forest management, which includes selective logging and other proper management practices, saved a forest and stopped a major wildfire: http://cronkitenewsonline.com/2011/12/experts-decades-of-logging-treatments-helped-stop-wallow-fire-at-reservation/
In the early 1970’s I worked in the woods logging and then later worked as a millwright for Southern Oregon Plywood. My brothers were also loggers as were many of my friends and countless others who lived in Southern Oregon. Like farmers who tended to their fields and cared for them year after year, and who depended upon those fields and the resulting crop production, loggers cared for the forests; they had to; forests were the lifeline for their family’s financial security.
Loggers and their families also spent a lot of time in the woods even when they weren’t working; they hunted and fished in the forests for generations. And through that continual close contact with the forest and the wildlife, loggers gained more knowledge about the forests and the animals that lived there than many of the scientists, giving them a unique understanding of the intricate and complex interactions of the biodiversity that exists in the forests.
As just one example of the many successful practices of loggers; dead and dying trees and underbrush (fuel for fires) were removed and eliminated during selective harvesting of the forests, and in the process of harvests, small access roads were made, which served as fire breaks and access for firefighters in the event of a fire. During that time and preceding decades, back when loggers were allowed to log public forests, fires that burned hundreds of thousands and millions of acres of timber were very rare, almost non-existent. And that was because the forests were healthy and the density of the forest and the underbrush were kept to a minimum as a result of proper management and continued annual harvests. Forests were managed as a sustainable and renewable resource, which in turn benefited the wildlife with sustainable reliable habitat and in the process, also provided recreational opportunities for the people. That former relationship between loggers and the forest was truly symbiotic.
I can still recall the spotted owl debacle, where loggers, who for all intents and purposes were the caretakers of the forests were completely closed-out of the public forests in wholesale fashion as a result of the ‘green’ movement and environmentalists! All logging came to a complete halt as well as the associated management practices. This resulted in the shutdown of numerous West Coast lumber mills and the loss of tens of thousands of jobs in and related to the timber industry which was thereafter decimated.
During the lobby by the ‘green movement’ and environmentalists, they argued that the rate of logging prior to the 1990’s would eliminate the old growth forests… here is a quote:
“Environmentalists admit that saving the owls’ habitat could cost jobs. But, they argue, these jobs will vanish no matter what. For if cutting continues at its current rate of 125,000 acres a year, the old-growth forests will be gone within thirty years and the mills forced to close anyhow.” (taken from this article: http://www.scu.edu/ethics/publications/iie/v4n1/ ).
However, as we have all witnessed, since the transition to the ‘green movement’s’ ban on logging in public forests, we are in fact actually losing many hundreds of thousands of acres of forest annually! It’s a travesty of monumental proportions… when people like these try to play God, the results are usually tragic and harm both humanity and the wildlife.
Through the use of politics combined with bad science the ‘green movement’ and environmentalists led the way to the implementation of seriously flawed policies (regulations) and practices. The EPA and the BLM along with Federal forestry agencies and their environmentalist support base had in the early 1990’s effected a major management policy change in order to supposedly save forest habitat for a species of owl (spotted owl) that was ‘allegedly’ endangered (http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=19930114&slug=1679945)
Result: In the early 1990’s Federal forests became off-limits to loggers.
Of course under the ‘new management’ practices of the environmentalist-led EPA, BLM and Federal Forestry Departments, the forests became (and are) very seriously overgrown leading to unhealthy stands of trees (with dead and dying trees) that were vulnerable to disease, insects and of course fire, as did the underbrush.
Forests became so dense that if a fire started (regardless of reason)… the fire would burn extremely hot and spread very fast; it’s so simple a child can understand the concept… more fuel, more forest fire.
And at the end of the day, many years later after Feds and the ‘green’ environmentalists kicked the loggers out of the forests and took-over, placing ‘their’ policies, regulations and management practices into place, the spotted owl population has continued to drop! This is irrefutable evidence that their interventions, policies and regulations have utterly failed to affect the owls, and in that failure, the public interest has lost even more animals and habitat to fire! Through their own actions, we now have even more animals heading towards potential extinction! What a contradiction to the claims of these people!
Under the ‘green environmental’ forest management polices/practices (‘hands off, no logging’), forests have become so dense that when lightning starts a fire, instead of just burning-off a relatively small area before the fire is brought under control, as it was in the days of managed logging, fires today now burn entire tracks of forests amounting to hundreds of thousands of acres annually, all of which is burned to the bare ground!
LET’S KEEP IN THE MIND THAT THIS IS NOW THE NEW ‘NORM’, and since it takes many decades for the trees to be re-established, the net result is that we are losing more and more forest annually, instead of gaining more forest area and wildlife habitat; just the opposite of what the environmentalists and the EPA preach to the public. So what’s the point?
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out…. Just look at the annual total acres that are burned to the ground… It’s truly shocking that this is even allowed to continue as it has, year after year.
So much for the ‘habitat’ of the spotted owl! And of course the habitats for dozens of other species were (are) lost as well. As of this writing, I am down in the area of the fires interviewing local people, and hundreds of thousands of acres of ‘critical habitat’ (old growth and other trees) has been converted to the ash that is falling from the sky; it’s like a nuclear winter without the radiation. Ash from the burned forests is covering entire cities!
It’s a fact that under the continued management of the public’s forest lands by the same idiotic policies, we now have annual forest fires that devastate huge areas of forest, and in the process destroy all of the trees, as opposed to having some of the trees harvested resulting in a healthy forest as had existed in the past; forests which then were also more fire-resistant. Some may try to argue that the fires are a result of the drought. Of course that’s a ruse to deflect blame from the implementation of a seriously flawed management policy. In the prior era of managed forest harvests, we also had periods of severe drought, without the results we are seeing today. Added to which, forests which are selectively logged and managed are far more fire resistant, drought or not, and that fact is undeniable.
So which method makes more sense? Sustainable logging as it was successfully practiced for nearly a century; or…. The current ‘green environmentalist’ methods where no logging is allowed in public forests resulting in hundreds of thousands of acres of forests regularly burning to the ground leaving nothing but ash and bare ground that is devoid of plant life and subject to severe erosion?
The erosion of the scorched earth in-turn leads to excessive silt run-off into the streams and rivers, which covers the critical gravel beds in the streams and rivers that are required for the fish eggs of spawning fish such as Salmon. Of course the recent decline in Salmon and Steelhead runs are certainly associated to this situation. Additionally, the loss of forests results in the loss of critical shade trees in and around watersheds, which results in the warming of stream and river water temperatures; this also adversely affects the fish populations.
The late Summer and Fall storms of the Pacific Northwest which spawn the lightning that ignite the forests also provide the downpours that wash the silt into the streams and rivers that resulted from the aftermath of the massive forest fires. And this silting of the waterways comes at the worst possible time… just as the Salmon are moving upriver to spawn in the gravel beds of the rivers and streams. However, with the overburden of silt that has washed-down off the now barren mountain sides, the gravel beds are covered in silt and are no longer viable for the spawning Salmon. This is not an optimal situation for the spawning Salmon; in fact, it can cause entire runs of Salmon to fail in their efforts to reproduce! As a fisherman myself, this situation is beyond frustrating.
As anyone can easily see, the relative newcomer green environmentalist-scientists have it all wrong, and every year since the implementation of their fatally flawed concepts and polices we watch as more and more forests are consumed by massive fires such as those that are burning as I write this.
If these forests were properly managed and logged as they were just 30 years ago in the Pacific Northwest, we would have trees still standing and abundant animal habitat in areas that are now burned to the dirt, and we would have renewable forest harvests as in the past providing full-time jobs for thousands of people. And as it was in the past, healthy standing forests shading the watersheds and minimized erosion, providing optimal water temperatures and low water turbidity in the streams and rivers resulting in abundant runs of fish, something that local Indian tribes greatly desire.
Instead, thanks to the intervention of the EPA, the ‘green movement’ and environmentalists, we have less and less forest, which leads to less and less water, and less fish,
WHILE THE GOOD PEOPLE OF SISKIYOU, JACKSON, JOSEPHINE AND KLAMATH COUNTIES ARE SUFFERING FROM RECORD HIGH UN-EMPLOYMENT AS THEY WATCH HELPLESSLY AS BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF TIMBER IS TURNED TO ASH EACH YEAR.
And in the end, with the forests burned to the ground, if a few spotted owls survive the blaze, the spotted owl has no trees and no habitat. So what was the point?
It just doesn’t get any dumber than this. We have the blind leading the blind.
THINKING AMERICANS NEED TO STAND-UP TO THE CURRENT STUPIDITY AND FORM A UNITED FRONT AGAINST THE IDIOTS WHO THINK THEY KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR EVERYONE ELSE, OUR NATURAL RESOURCES, OUR SCHOOLS AND OUR LOCAL COUNTIES.
Some readers might be thinking; why should I care? Or, how does this affect me since I live across the U.S. from these wildfires. We all need to care and take action because this kind of mismanagement can happen anywhere environmentalists stick their noses into areas where they have less than adequate experience.
AS I WRITE THIS, AND AS A RESULT OF YET ANOTHER ENVIRONMENTALIST INTERVENTION, NUMEROUS PERFECTLY GOOD WEST COAST DAMS ARE BEING EYED FOR REMOVAL! OF COURSE THIS MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO THESE UPSIDE-DOWN THINKING PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY GIVEN THAT THE WEST COAST IS SERIOUSLY SHORT ON WATER AS IT IS, AND NEEDS MORE DAMS, NOT LESS!
Are we going to wait until these clowns let it all burn?
    Cheers! Bill

    HISTORY TRUTH AND POLITICS
AND, REDUCE THE THREAT AND SOARING COSTS OF CATASTROPHIC WILDFIRE.

Instead, thanks to the intervention of the EPA, the ‘green movement’ and environmentalists, we have less and less forest, which leads to less and less water, and less fish, WHILE THE GOOD PEOPLE OF SISKIYOU, JACKSON, JOSEPHINE AND KLAMATH COUNTIES ARE SUFFERING FROM RECORD HIGH UN-EMPLOYMENT AS THEY WATCH HELPLESSLY AS BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF TIMBER IS TURNED TO ASH EACH YEAR.
    Cheers! Bill

Social networking will become the most effective means of informing and educating the public about FIRE, as traditional media and informational techniques continue to decline in popularity.

It was called the fire community’s “CRYSTAL BALL,” by Tom Harbour, Director of Fire and Aviation Management for the USDA Forest Service.[1]

Artley, Contractor  August, 2009 Address by Tom Harbour before the International Association of Fire Chiefs Conference, March 26, 2009 Written by Don Artley, January 2009, in IAFC newsletter, article titled, “Quadrennial Fire Review.”

    —————————————————————————————-

The 2009 Quadrennial Fire Review (QFR) is a publication that examines the future of wildfire in the United States and provides insight and predictions about potential changes in mission, roles and responsibilities.

It was called the fire community’s “CRYSTAL BALL,” by Tom Harbour, Director of Fire and Aviation Management for the USDA Forest Service.[1]

The QFR is not a policy or decision document, nor does it contain specific recommendations. Its purpose is to stimulate thought and discussion within the wildfire community about how the nation can best prepare for future wildfire seasons. According to the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), the QFR “was designed as a strategic evaluative process that develops an internal assessment of capabilities of current programs and resources in comparison to future needs for fire management.” [2]

The QFR is published every four years. The first QFR was completed in 2005 and the second published in January 2009 by the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho; and the National Advanced Fire Research Institute in Tucson, Arizona. It is modeled on the Department of Defense’s Quadrennial Defense Review.

The 2009 QFR was developed by fire experts from federal, state local and tribal organizations, plus assistance from non-governmental organizations and the research and academic communities. The overall effort was coordinated through the Brookings Institution.

The QFR is not reviewed or approved by any government entity.

It is meant to be an independent and objective document, free from political or agency influence. The QFR’s projections of future conditions extend to a 10-to-20 year time frame, while the strategies for how to prepare for those future conditions is defined in a four-to-five-year period.

The QFR looks at trends and makes forecasts about what will need to change within the fire community to deal with future challenges. Among the notable forecasts in the 2009 QFR are:

    • Climate change will produce longer fire seasons, with the potential of 10–12 million acres (40,000–49,000 km2)
    • BURNING IN THE UNITED STATES BY THE YEAR 2014.
    • Also, wildfire will affect more geographic regions than in the past, specifically the Northeast and Great Lakes areas, which generally have been considered at low-risk. Alaska‘s fire vulnerability will increase, as well, as warmer temperatures dry out vegetation.
    • The current drought cycle might last another 25 years, creating more stress on vegetation and contributing to a higher number of fires and more volatile fire behavior.
    • Growth will slow in populated areas prone to wildfire (often called the “wildland-urban interface” or WUI), but they will still be at high risk from wildfires.
    • Fire agency budgets will be strained by increasing demands, rising costs and falling government revenues.
    • The concept of “protecting all communities at all costs” should transition to “fostering self-reliance and increasing resiliency.” The education focus should shift toward more self-reliance and accountability, producing “fire-adapted communities.”
    • Social networking will become the most effective means of informing and educating the public about fire, as traditional media and informational techniques continue to decline in popularity.

The 2009 QFR also outlines an integrated fuels management plan that would help ensure that fuels treatment investments are tied more closely to land stewardship objectives. It also suggests that small-scale fuels treatments (prescribed burning, mechanical removal of brush, thinning, chemical treatments, and so forth) are not as effective as larger, landscape-scale treatments in terms of ecosystem health.

The 2005 QFR was prescient. For example, it predicted a significant increase in the number and costs of wildfires, dramatic changes in weather, accelerated WUI growth, and continued fuel build-ups. All of these forecasts proved correct.

More than 100 people participated in developing the 2009 version of the QFR. The next QFR is scheduled for publication in 2012. Electronic copies of the QFR are available at the NIFC website,[1]

    2. IMPACTS AND EFFECTIVENESS OF LOGGING BANS IN NATURAL FORESTS: NEW ZEALAND

     ALAN REID

    INTRODUCTION

New Zealand’s natural forests have been the subject of protracted public and political debate regarding the role of Government in forestry and the future use of natural forests during the last three decades. THIS REVIEW COVERS THE EVOLUTION OF THE COUNTRY’S LOGGING BAN SINCE THE EARLY 1970S, when public interest and disquiet over natural forest management became prominent, through late 1999 when the Government decided to phase out the last logging operations on State-owned natural forests in the West Coast region.

Some events played major roles in the way logging restrictions have been implemented. One was the development of planted forests of introduced species, which eventually became the main source of timber in New Zealand. Another was the reorganization of the Government natural resources administration in the mid-1980s, which resulted in the separation of commercial planted forests and natural forests.

Prior to these events, large areas of natural forests covering New Zealand’s rugged and erosion-prone terrain were also set aside for water and soil protection. Such reservation became a feature of forest management when the first Government policy on natural forest management and timber sales was formulated.

The exclusion of timber harvests from other natural forests, as a matter of national policy for conservation reasons, is a relatively recent development in New Zealand. Logging restrictions followed growing public interest in natural forest management in the 1970s, and subsequent political changes affecting forestry administration. The Government reorganized the natural forest administration in 1987. Maturing planted forests provide alternative raw material in many parts of the country, cushioning the effect of these changes in the forest industry.

After 1987, new policies and legislation focused on private forests. Timber harvests have not been banned in these forests. Commercial timber harvests are, however, restricted by export, sawmilling, and sustainable forest management constraints.

NATURAL FOREST AREAS AFFECTED BY LOGGING BANS

Logging restrictions eventually will apply to about 5.1 million ha of New Zealand’s State-owned natural forests. An additional 142 000 ha of State-owned natural forests and about 1.3 million ha of private forests are subject to restrictions that limit commercial timber harvest according to sustainable forest management guidelines. However, much of the natural forests in all ownerships cover steep land and other protection areas. AFTER FORESTS WITHIN CATCHMENT PROTECTION AREAS, NATIONAL PARKS, AND OTHER KEY RESERVE AREAS ARE REMOVED FROM THE AVAILABLE HARVEST AREA, AN ESTIMATED 930 000 HA OF LOGGED AND UNLOGGED FORESTS ON STATE LANDS REMAIN DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE LOGGING BAN. Similarly, about 670 000 ha of private forests are potentially available for commercial management, although only about 124 000 ha of this area are currently of commercial interest.

    snippet, Social implications

The impacts on employment and income generation from logging restrictions have been felt most in the smaller milling-dependant communities. Six months into the coalition air campaign, ISIL has finally been ejected from Kobane, but the hard work of rolling back the group’s territorial gains in Syria and Iraq remains. As airstrikes continue, two distinct approaches are being taken to counter the challenge on the ground. In Iraq, Baghdad and Washington are working to reconstitute and field an integrated Internal Security Force. And in Syria, Iran and the Assad regime are deploying a series of Shiite militias to combat ISIL.

To discuss these differing regional approaches, The Washington Institute is pleased to host a Policy Forum with Michael Knights, Phillip Smyth, and Ambassador Brett McGurk. Watch live starting at 1:00 p.m. EST on Friday, February 6, 2015.

Michael Knights is a Lafer Fellow at the Institute and author of its just-released study The Long Haul: Rebooting U.S. Security Cooperation in Iraq.

Phillip Smyth is a researcher at the University of Maryland and author of the blog Hizballah Cavalcade, which focuses on Shiite Islamist militarism in the Middle East. The Institute will soon release his latest study, The Shiite Jihad in Syria and Its Regional Effects.

    P. J. Dermer is a retired Army colonel who served multiple tours in the Middle East, including two in Iraq. He participated in standing up both civil and defense institutions in Iraq and served as the senior military advisor for reconciliation and to Iraqi forces in Baghdad in 2008.      Phillip Smyth – The Washington Institute for Near East Policy

    www.washingtoninstitute.org/…

Washington Institute for Near East Policy

Phillip Smyth is a researcher at the University of Maryland. He writes the blog Hizballah Cavalcade, which focuses on Shiite Islamist militarism in the Middle East …

Phillip Smyth, a terrorism researcher at the University of Maryland, said Obama’s history of reluctance was born out of a post-9/11 reality, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which “crafted a presidency where there was a pushback to earlier policies. Obama’s own worldview aside, many Americans felt that after years of fighting, the best solution was to just pull out and allow other powers to pick up the slack.”

Smyth added that in lieu of the United States “acting unilaterally or leading from the front,” it clearly took a “backseat” approach.

Rodban said: “In many circles, analysts now consider America’s response to 9/11 to be an overreaction that pulled the country into two wars that it couldn’t win, against an amorphous enemy it couldn’t beat. As a candidate, Senator Obama criticized the Bush doctrine and promised to end America’s wars, reverse what he saw as the previous administration’s overreach, and end the notion that the United States is the world’s policeman.” Rodban added that “the Obama doctrine has mainly been defined by what it’s not.”

Regarding the Syrian crisis, Smyth said there was collective “paralysis in many circles, and in others poorly hashed-out strategies” that stemmed from “the will to not really be involved.” He added that “9/11 in some ways blinded policy-makers, since it helped craft a simpler narrative of the United States versus an evil actor.”

Obama’s presidency has been marked by a strong hesitation to engage in any fight that the United States cannot win. However, he may have just entered one against an ambiguous entity and ideology whose very nature makes it virtually impossible to gauge progress or success in defeating.

Despite years of Obama attempting to disengage from the region, on the 13th anniversary of 9/11 his speech highlighted the fact that a U.S. foreign policy marked mostly by inertia has little place long-term in the Middle East.

Navy considers more sonobuoys off Pacific Coast

PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Navy could significantly increase the number of sonobuoys it plans to deploy off the Pacific Coast.

The floating, acoustic surveillance devices are used in ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/4JLsbt ) that in a modified environmental assessment for Northwest training and testing, the Navy increased the number of planned sonobuoys from 20 to 720.

They would be in areas at least 12 miles offshore FROM ALASKA, WASHINGTON, OREGON AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.

    Draft Environmental Impact Statement

    /Overseas Environmental Impact Statement

THE NAVY’S REQUEST FOR THE RENEWAL OF ITS FIVE-YEAR MARINE MAMMAL PROTECTION ACT PERMIT, IS AT http://tinyurl.com/PDN-Sonobuoy2.

    VOLUME 1, January 2014 (is a 940 page document)

    NWTT EIS/OEIS Project Manager

    Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Northwest,

EV21.KK1101 Tautog  Circle Silverdale, WA 98315

In this EIS/OEIS, the Navy analyzes potential environmental impacts

that result or COULD RESULT FROM ACTIVITIES under the

No Action Alternative, Alternative 1, and Alternative 2.

Resource areas that will be addressed include,

     BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO,

sediments and water quality, air quality, marine habitats,

marine mammals, sea turtles, birds, marine vegetation, marine invertebrates, fish, cultural resources, Native American and Native Alaskan traditional resources, socioeconomic resources, and public health and safety

Public meetings are planned Jan. 12 in Poulsbo, Jan. 13 in Aberdeen, Jan. 14 in Newport, Ore., and Jan. 16 in Eureka, Calif.

NO PUBLIC MEETINGS ARE PLANNED ON THE NORTH OLYMPIC PENINSULA.

The Navy gave no time line for the process, but said that it planned to adjust training and testing activities “to the level needed to support Navy requirements beginning October 2015.”

The final environmental impact statement will be released for a 30-day wait period before the Nary makes a decision and releases a record of decision.

    Training Bombing Exercise (Air-to-Surface)

    Gunnery Exercise (Surface-to-Surface)–Ship

Mine Neutralization–Explosive Ordnance Disposal Sinking Exercise

Note: There are no testing activities in the Study Area for which this applies

    ———————————————————————————

The Navy increased the number of planned sonobuoys from 20 to 720.

Under Alternative 1, the number of training events that use chaff (the solid metal and heavy plastic objects?)  in the Offshore Area would increase from 2,900 to 5,000 per year compared to the No Action Alternative, and the number of events that use flares would increase from 184 to 224 per year

THESE ACTIVITIES WOULD RESULT IN INADVERTENT TAKES OF MARINE MAMMALS IN THE STUDY AREA Pursuant to the MMPA, the use of sonar and other

active acoustic sources for testing activities as described under

    Alternative 2:

May expose marine mammals up to 98,220 times annually to sound levels that would be considered Level B harassment

    ————————————————————————————————–

Conclusion Testing activities under Alternative 2

include the use of sonar and other active acoustic sources as described in Section3.0.5.3.

    1 (Acoustic Stressors).

•May expose marine mammals up to 141 times annually to sound levels that would be considered Level A harassment

Pursuant to the ESA, the use of sonar and other active acoustic sources during testing activities as described under

    Alternative2:

May affect, and is likely to adversely affect the humpback whale, blue whale, fin whale, sei whale, Western North Pacific gray whale, sperm whale, southern resident killer whale, and Guadalupe fur seal

•Would have no effect on North Pacific right whale

Would have no effect on southern resident killer whale critical HABITAT?

    ————————————————————————–

    Offshore Area

Under Alternative 1, the number of training events that use chaff (the solid metal and heavy plastic objects)  in the Offshore Area would increase from 2,900 to 5,000 per year compared to the No Action Alternative, and the number of events that use flares would increase from 184 to 224 per year compared to the No Action Alternative Other possible concerns that have been identified include toxic plastic additives and toxic contaminants that could be adsorbed to the plastic from ambient seawater. PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Navy could significantly increase the number of sonobuoys it plans to deploy off the Pacific Coast.

They would be in areas at least 12 miles offshore from Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Northern California.

The Navy acknowledges that deploying more of them is likely to harm endangered leatherneck turtles. It’s accepting public comments until Feb. 2.

In addition to more buoys, the document also details additional “maritime security operations” that weren’t reviewed in the earlier environmental assessment, possibly including escorts for submarines, search-and-seizure exercises, and anti-piracy missions.

I have been researching documenting and commenting on the Clallam County Shoreline Management Plan Update since Jan.26, 2011.

I  have 156 SMP Public Comments posted on the SMP website on the CUMULATIVE IMPACT OF THE SMP UPDATE ON THE 3300 VESTED PRIVATE SHORELINE PROPERTY OWNERS IN CLALLAM COUNTY WA.

But? Then?  WHAT DO I KNOW ABOUT THE SMP UPDATE WEBSITE?

The vast majority of my “CUMULATIVE IMPACT” SMP Public Comments on “We The People” have been posted  and coded as “GENERAL COMMENTS?”.

How could a thing like that happen?

    ————————————————————-

The  Nov. 2014 Clallam County SMP Updated Draft?

By his own admission to me, with no help from ESA facilitator, Margaret Clancy, Steve Gray, Deputy Director/Planning Manager has completely rewritten, revised, altered, edited, expanded, reworded, and RE-DRAFTED the the Clallam County Shoreline Management Update.

Steve Gray has presented two meetings of his Updated SMP RE-DRAFTED SMP  to The Clallam County Planning Commission, ESA facilitator, Margaret Clancy, is assisting him.

    ———————————————————————————————————–

I strenuously object to the hastily rewritten RE-DRAFTED SMP Update presentations of maps and language. Using  the ESA consultants and ECOLOGY’S SUSTAINABILITY NO NET LOSS jargon,

Sometimes including a brief stop to mention the  Advisory Committee

The  SMP GOBBLEDYGOOK being presented, using more words than necessary, especially to avoid expressing it directly,  to an ill-prepared Planning Commission, goes far beyond the understanding of a reasonable person. (why Lake Sutherland has a 35 foot setback)

THE OVERLAPPING MAPS? UNUSUALLY  hard to understand THE SHALL AND MUST PROTECT  of , 200 foot setback, the critical areas set- backs, plus the exceptional feeder bluffs, plus the flood plain, plus the rivers meander line, PLUS THE ASSOCIATED WETLANDS, plus the protected wetland habitat,  and the mention of SEASONAL STREAMS…

UNUSUALLY, HARD TO UNDERSTAND HARD TO SWALLOW.

The new rules and wording added to our Nov. 2014   Shoreline Management Update by Steve Gray indicate that it is a done deal… plus the associated wetlands, plus seasonal streams.

    ————————————————————————

The changed suggested by the Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency is being protested by the Pacific Legal Foundation, a group which has challenged water-related regulation before the Supreme Court — and won.

“On its face, the proposed rule covers virtually every water in the nation,” PLF told the government in public comments, according to WND.

    ———————————————————————————-

The understanding of a reasonable man? The intent of a party can be determined by examining the understanding of a reasonable person, after consideration is given to all relevant circumstances of the case including the negotiations, any practices the parties have established between themselves, usages and any subsequent conduct of the parties.

    —————————————————————————————

Why call it GOBBLEDYGOOK? in an SMP Update in ESA and ECOLOGY language characterized by circumlocution and the use of more words than necessary to express something, especially to avoid saying it directly.

And saying the word water, and more water, Indicates water, the movement of water, standing still water, the high water mark, failed to mention the difference between an SMP shoreline and the SMP shorelines of Statewide significance, past the  taking of  private property value, somebody, vested private property owners…

Sometimes including a brief stop to mention the  mitigation process, so a vested Clallam County private property owner can use and develop his own private property.

Using  the ESA consultants and ECOLOGY’S SUSTAINABILITY NO NET LOSS jargon

Sometimes including a brief stop to mention the  Advisory Committee

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Awareness Week is just around the corner

The “Charity’s 9th Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week” runs from MONDAY 17TH NOVEMBER TO SUNDAY 23RD NOVEMBER 2014.

We were wondering whether you would be interested in hosting or writing a guest post with this infographic alongside an article directed to landlords ABOUT THE DANGERS OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.

We feel that it could be a useful resource to your readers. You can find the infographic here.

Indeed, this is more than a useful resource, it is  of life saving significance   to my readers, considering that….

NO MEDIA WARNING ON CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING WAS ISSUED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT

TO OR FOR THE OVER 250 MILLION PEOPLE INUNDATED with ARCTIC AIR ( to overwhelm somebody with a huge quantity of things that must be dealt with)

CARBON MONOXIDE INCIDENTS I BELIEVE WILL GO UP EVEN FASTER DUE TO MORE AND MORE PEOPLE FAMILIES BEING FORCED TO LIVE IN POVERTY. FOOD BANKS ARE POPPING UP EVERYWHERE….

    ——————————————————————-

HISTORICALLY, CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) POISONING  IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF POISONING DEATHS IN THE UNITED STATES.

THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT  FAILURE OF  “WEATHER CHANGE PREPAREDNESS” BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.

    WHY BOTHER WITH THAT?

WITH OVER 250 MILLION AMERICAN PEOPLE, FAMILIES,  AFFECTED BY THE RECORD BREAKING  ARCTIC AIR ACROSS THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES AND THE POWER OUTAGES?

HOW WILL PEOPLE KEEP THEIR FAMILIES WARM?

Historically, even in a normal WEATHER year, using outdated data from on line

In 2009, poison control centers reported 3,551cases of CO exposure among

children ages 19 and under. Because of their high metabolic rates and high tissue oxygen demands, children are biologically at increased risk of CO poisoning when exposed to CO.

PERSONS HOSPITALIZED WITH CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) POISONING ARE AMONG THE MOST SEVERELY POISONED CASES. ALTHOUGH UNINTENTIONAL CO POISONING CAN ALMOST ALWAYS BE PREVENTED,

CO IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF POISONING DEATHS IN THE UNITED STATES

and every year more than 20 New Mexicans die as a result of accidental or unintentional exposure to this toxic gas. Patients who survive are likely to develop long-term neurological problems.

The co poisoning hospitalizations data can be used to assess the burden of severe co poisoning, monitor trends over time, and to inform co EXPOSURE PREVENTION, education, and evaluation efforts to prevent poisoning.

WITH AN AVERAGE OF 430 CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING DEATHS PER YEAR OCCURRING IN THE UNITED STATES, in a normal WEATHER year.

THIS CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING WARNING IS FROM ENGLAND AND WALES

Carbon monoxide incidents over the last 21 months have been rising faster than our charity has ever seen before. Carbon monoxide incidents I believe will go up even faster due to more and more people families being forced to live in poverty. Food banks are popping up everywhere and the last thing on any ones mind will be to make sure ALL their fuel burning appliances are serviced and their chimney if they have ones is swept. I am keen to prevent this from happening to anyone else living/working in the UK but I and the charity need much more support to do this. I HAVE 54 PRESS CLIPPINGS FOR CARBON MONOXIDE INCIDENTS THIS YEAR. Our website carries a just over half of them please see: http://covictim.org/articles/details/carbon-monoxide-poisoning-related-news-jan-mar-204

THE POWER OF CYBERSPACE… This is the email I received  11/11/14

    Hello,

I stumbled on upon your site and when searching for property blogs and your website really stood out.

My name is Sean and I work for a digital marketing agency assisting BoilerJuice – the UK’s leading online supplier of heating oil.

and I wanted to draw your attention to an infographic that we created to help homeowners understand the risks of an unsafe boiler and learn how to detect the dangers signs.

We feel that it could be a useful resource to your readers. You can find the infographic here.

We were wondering whether you would be interested in hosting or writing a guest post with this infographic alongside an article directed to landlords about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.

What are your thoughts about this?

    Thanks,

    Sean

Charity’s “9th Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week” starts Monday 17th November. – See more at: http://covictim.org/articles/details/charity-s-9th-carbon-monoxide-awareness-week-starts-monday-17th-november#sthash.oB2W8itp.dpuf

Please pledge your support to our charity’s 9th National Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week.

Most of the charity’s posters and leaflets can be found on our website http://covictim.org/resources/ or on one of the charity’s main supporters website’s  carrying their own logo below.

Working together to help prevent deaths and injuries from carbon monoxide:

    For info:

Carbon Monoxide Awareness is an independent registered charity run “entirely” by unpaid volunteers founded by myself along with the charity’s Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week. The “Charity’s 9th Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week” runs from Monday 17th November to Sunday 23rd November 2014. The aim of the week is to warn those living/working in the UK that:

    • Carbon Monoxide is produced by the “incomplete combustion” of ANY hydrocarbon fuel coal, charcoal, wood, biomass, oil, petrol, diesel, natural gas and LPG and not just natural gas as so many people believe.
    • You can be poisoned by carbon monoxide while in your own home, from an adjoining property, in a car, campervan, caravan, tent, holiday accommodation or on a boat.
    • The need to get all their fuel burning appliances serviced and their chimney swept every year.
    • Letting tenants know what their landlords should do to protect them.
    • Please see: http://covictim.org/articles/details/pledge-your-support-to-charity-s-9th-national-carbon-monoxide-awareness-week-

The charity and I urgently need your support to help prevent what happened to my family from happening to someone else who lives/works here in the UK before they become the next victim of this silent killer.

If your company is looking for a new charity of the year for 2014/15 please think of us.

    Electronic Warfare Public Forums

Large crowd protests Navy electronic warfare training plan at PA forum

Many in the crowd grew upset when they learned THE FORUM was not being recorded and the questions would not be used as part of the comments on the proposal. Instead, officials said questions and comments have to be submitted in writing through the formal comment process.

AT AN OPEN PUBLIC FORUM…YOU ARE GIVEN THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF FIRST AMENDMENT, FREE SPEECH, PROTECTION YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BE  LOUD, AND EVEN THE IGNORANT DISRUPTIVE PUBLIC IS WELCOMED, FREE SPEAKING, EVEN SHOUTING THOSE PUBLIC SERVANTS DOWN IS ALLOWED.

    ————————————————-

    The bottom line

ARE THE FEDS JUST ALLOWING US TO BLOW OFF STEAM AT A LOCAL PUBLIC FORUM?

OR ARE THE FEDS JUST BLOWING US OFF?

IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE….. What difference does it make?

Electronic Warfare is FEDERAL.  Don’t waste your time sending comments through the formal comment process.

SEND YOUR OBJECTIONS TO YOUR FEDERAL ELECTED CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES,

    (1) THEY ARE NOT PROTECTING US

    (2)  THEY ARE NOT REPRESENTING OUR BEST INTERESTS

     (3)  AND, THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE TO US  FOR THE NAVY ELECTRONIC WARFARE PROJECT.

I have three, Rep. Kilmer, Senators Murray and Cantwell.

    WHAT DIFFERENCE DO THEY  MAKE?

ARE LOCAL PUBLIC FORUMS? PUBLIC MEETING? EFFECTIVE?

    PUBLIC FORUM

Public forum doctrine relies heavily on history and tradition. A location is deemed a “traditional public forum” or a “general public forum” and given THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTION when it has “immemorially been held in trust for the use of the public, and, time out of mind, [has] been used for purposes of assembly, communicating thoughts between citizens, and discussing public questions.” Strict scrutiny applies to any content-based speech restriction in these locations.

    PUBLIC MEETINGS

Public meetings shouldn’t be marred by insults, unruly behavior
The U.S. Forest Service organizes open meetings to answer questions and to give everyone a chance to weigh in on the use of our public lands. WHEN PEOPLE ARE INTIMIDATED INTO SILENCE, they are effectively DENIED ACCESS TO A PUBLIC FORUM.

    —————————————————————————————

    IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE

ARE YOU ONE OF THE IGNORANT, DISRUPTIVE, PUBLIC THAT ATTENDS PUBLIC FORUMS OR PUBLIC MEETINGS?

AT AN OPEN PUBLIC MEETING? DISRUPTIVE PUBLIC ATTENDEES have to sit down and shut up… or they will KICK YOU OUT

AT AN OPEN PUBLIC FORUM…YOU ARE GIVEN THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF FIRST AMENDMENT, FREE SPEECH, PROTECTION YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BE  LOUD, AND EVEN THE IGNORANT DISRUPTIVE PUBLIC IS WELCOMED,  WOW FREE SPEAKING, EVEN SHOUTING THOSE PUBLIC SERVANTS DOWN IS ALLOWED.

    WHAT’S  “NEW”  (2006) LISTENING SESSIONS?

An increasing trend in PUBLIC PARTICIPATION is for agencies, elected officials, and non-governmental organizations to hold listening sessions. While there is a wide degree of variation depending on the issue and the host, LISTENING SESSIONS generally are an opportunity for citizens to exchange ideas and provide recommendations on programs and policies. SIMILAR TO PUBLIC MEETINGS, many listening sessions begin with the agency or official giving a brief presentation on the issue and then allowing time for citizens to offer comments or recommendations.

(after the 2014 election results?) HELLO CONGRESS…  CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?

    ————————————————————————————————

WHAT ELSE IS   “NEW” WITH PUBLIC MEETINGS?  WITH PUBLIC OBSERVERS? WITH NO PUBLIC COMMENTS?

    OBSERVER by definition

     (1) A PERSON WHO FOLLOWS EVENTS, ESPECIALLY POLITICAL ONES, CLOSELY

     AND COMMENTS PUBLICLY ON THEM.

    (2) A  person who watches or notices something.

    (3) A fly on the wall

    (4) A fly on the wall who watches or notices something.

    WITH NO PUBLIC COMMENTS ALLOWED.

WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?  SILENCING THE VOICE OF OPPOSITION

“Once a government is committed to the principle of SILENCING THE VOICE OF OPPOSITION, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.”

    ———————————————————————————-

WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?  ENFORCED SILENCE

If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehood and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, NOT ENFORCED SILENCE.”

In addition to providing notice and requesting written comments, part of the federal public participation process often involves public meetings, hearings, and/or open houses as another way for agencies to obtain public input on an issue. But there are other opportunities to meet face-to-face with decision-makers at all levels of government, from the U.S. Congress to your local planning commission. In this edition of the Problem-Solving Tools Series, we highlight some of the various opportunities to voice your comments and concerns, describe what you can expect, and provide links to other resources and “how-to guides” for more information.

What are the Forums?  What Should I Expect?

    PUBLIC MEETINGS

A public meeting is a gathering where people come together to share information, exchange ideas, introduce new services and ways of working, or to develop relationships and contacts.  The purpose of a public meeting is to discuss issues, not to make decisions.  By allowing for a two-way flow of information, meetings provide an opportunity for people to share their concerns, hear other points of view, and identify areas of conflict.  The term “public meeting” is used rather loosely to describe anything from community members gathering to informally discuss an issue to more formal events used to obtain comment on an agency decision or action.

    PUBLIC FORUM

Public forum doctrine relies heavily on history and tradition. A location is deemed a “traditional public forum” or a “general public forum” and given the highest level of First Amendment protection when it has “immemorially been held in trust for the use of the public, and, time out of mind, [has] been used for purposes of assembly, communicating thoughts between citizens, and discussing public questions.”[8] Strict scrutiny applies to any content-based speech restriction in these locations.[9]
