THEY HAVE PAVED THE WAY FOR GLOBALIZATION AS THE PROCESS OF CONNECTING THE WORLD AS WELL AS RESHAPING IT INTO A ”GLOBAL VILLAGE”

    —————————————————

    This appears to be Pro-Globalization?

    ——————————————–

Globalization is clearly affected by the postmodern idea of power forged by global players such as corporations, powerful countries, the World Bank, MMF, UN, transnational public and secret organizations as creators of the New World Order.

Naturally, they do not follow wishes of people who would like such creation but rather those of global players.

    ——————————————————-

The media is liberal? The power players control the media?

Like I said, This appears to be Pro-Globalization?

WHATEVER…  PRO OR CON, THERE IS LOTS OF INTERESTING STUFF TO READ

    ————————————————————-

REGARDING MEDIA STRATEGY, the world can be presented only according to the wishes of power structures via media as their transmission channels in function of manipulation, brainwashing and production of approval to all possible sick solutions.

Chomsky wrote about that in many of his books. He elaborated on various strategies of manipulating public such as the strategy of ”distraction” (inversion of problem), strategy ”create problems, then offer solutions”, ”gradual strategy” in sense of gradual production of approval from the public, ”strategy of deferring” or announcement of unpopular changes, strategy ”go to the public as a little child” or wandering, strategy ”use the emotional side more than the reflection” (manipulation by fears and emotions, what Hitler’s and Stalin’s propaganda had already done),

STRATEGY ”KEEP THE PUBLIC IN IGNORANCE AND MEDIOCRITY” in which less educated become vulnerable target for manipulation

and production of approval, strategy of ”self-blame strengthen” to induce emotion in an individual that he/she alone is responsible for his/her position and, finally, strategy ”getting to know individuals better than they know themselves”

TO ESTABLISH FULL CONTROL AND POWER OVER HUMAN BEHAVIOR. It all happens under the auspices of SIMULATED DEMOCRACY.

THIS IS WHAT WE CALL DEMOCRACY OR CRAWLING TOTALITARIANISM ON THE GLOBAL SCALE. In flagranti!

Some of these strategies can be identified on the example of manufactured refugee and immigrant crisis or Migration Period

    1. Prologue

The trust in progress and continuation of modernization has led us into a new huge transformation of the world. Changes in all spheres of life have occured under the influence of highly developed information and communication technologies.

THEY HAVE PAVED THE WAY FOR GLOBALIZATION AS THE PROCESS OF CONNECTING THE WORLD AS WELL AS RESHAPING IT INTO A ”GLOBAL VILLAGE”. Romantic fervor and faith in globalization have gradually diminished. Political realism, as well as every other, currently abates such romantic fervor and optimism.

It is evident now that anti-globalization movements have not been led by people standing on the other side of the barricade but by mighty structures which even finance movements to prevent them from crossing the line and putting everything in danger. And that is also part of the power play! The power play (technological, military, economic, informatic, media, cultural and metacultural) has indicated uneven effects of globalization, precarious balance in favor of heterogenous oligarchy, unequal distribution of wealth, uncontrolled global risk society, enormous demographic changes, mass economic and forced migrations.

    ——————————————————————————

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE BALKANS IN THE AGE OF GLOBALIZATION: Power play and the power of play

The time in which we live is marked by evergrowing influence of knowledge, information and technology, globalism and globalization as a new integration of the world at the turn of the century. It can be denoted as the postmodern condition, second modernity or liquid modernity.

    ·         Lost in the political macro cosmos of EU

1 July 2015   The text offers a short blogosphere anatomy of a condition which I hope will turn out as a temporary failure. I intend to analyse values and provide rational guidelines for further action…

    Snippet

Two years ago, political microcosm called Croatia has become a part of political macrocosm called the EU or the Eurosphere as a political construction of second modernity in a globalized world. And that is not irrelevant as well! THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA BECAME A FULL MEMBER STATE OF THE EU TODAY, ON 1 JULY AD 2013.

From that day on, in terms of phenomenological sociology focused on the analysis of everyday life, there are only few things that indicate the fact that the Republic of Croatia forms part of the everyday political reality of the EU or the Eurosphere. Croatia acts as if it is not a member of the EU and experiences serious problems with semiotics and its own interpretation to which political space does it belong. It affiliates with the Region and lives in an undefined interspace between the EU (Eurosphere) and the Region as a newly constructed imaginary geography of depersonalized states.

    snippet…

It is a society that resembles a group of collectors of empty bottles in which there are more collectors than bottles to be found. We are not talking about a minor and insignificant sociological fact but rather an alarming one! We are talking about a poor society, a wretched and almost declassed middle class, mighty oligarchy or profiteers from war and economic transition being regarded as new pillars of society. Features of such society lost in political macrocosm of the EU (Eurosphere) include inefficient and slow public administration, high unemployment rate (in April 2015 it amounted to 17.5% or 310 936), mass emigration of younger population (around 48 000 recently emigrated) with European Comission forecast stating that 166-217 thousand of the most educated will leave the country in seven years from now on. It is a society sentenced to demographic deterioration and disappearance unless dystopian tendencies finally stop. Meanwhile prominent politicians holding executive power communicate poorly or not at all. This relates to the lack of communication from the PM and the president as well as irrational discussions on historical issues without any willingness and wish to move toward the future.

    Update Facts on School Shootings

After the Oct. 24, 2014 Marysville WA School Shooting

Herman Williams a Tulalip tribal executive, said in a TV statement “We must find out why this is happening and  a way to stop it.” (I can’t find his exact quote)

    ——————————————————————————————-

    A Message From the Chairman

Chairman Herman Williams, Sr. Responds to Tragedy at Marysville Pilchuck High School

    TULALIP, WA — October 24, 2014

Our community is reeling from this experience, so we ask that the media and the public honor the families and our children in this time of grief.

Sadly, we are now experiencing what has become A NATIONAL TREND, which we, as a society, must address. These are our children. They are suffering, and their lives will be forever changed.

Chairman Herman Williams Sr., offered this statement:

“Our priority is now on our children and young people. ”

    ———————————————————————————————————–

The message from Chairman Herman Williams, Sr. really hit home with me.

We share this priority on our children and young people and we share family members in the Marysville community. Twelve members of my family live, work and attend school in Marysville.

I called Chairman Herman Williams on Tues. Nov. 4, 2014 at 10:45am and left a message for him, indeed “WE” must find out why this is happening and find a way to stop it!

    ———————————————————————————

Chairman Herman Williams, Sr.  returned my call on Dec. 3, 2014. It was not a long conversation.

We  are both deeply concerned about the school shootings.

Common sense dictates that new scientific based solutions to what has become A NATIONAL TREND,  must  be addressed

Chairman Williams has meetings with influential people, he is in a position to uncover facts.  Those facts can be used to implement change.

And,  Chairman Williams has the clout to demand those changes.

    ———————————————————————————-

I did object to Marysville School District Superintendent Dr. Becky Berg recommendations.

Censoring the board-approved core curriculum this year is not a solution, it is a problem.

Kids need to talk about this.

    —————————————————————————————————————

I told Herman that I have researched the history, documented and posted many FACTUAL comments regarding the NATIONAL TREND  of school shootings.

    —————————————————————————

I suggested that Chairman Williams visit my website.

It was a very meaningful conversation.

I hope providing the posted research and scientific documentation on school shooting, will help bring significant change to the governments/educators perception of how to stop this national trend.

    ——————————————————————————

See my next posting “Who cares about School Shootings?”

    ——————————————————————————-

We may never know what caused this school shooting?

But, we have to start someplace FACTS WORK FOR ME.

SCHOOL SHOOTINGS BY NORMAL MALE, BOY’S  PUBERTY, TESTOSTERONE

This would be the unmentioned un-drugged 10% of school shooters

Has any Gov. Agencies investigation of school shootings ever included the testing of  individual shooters, male, boy students for ELEVATED TESTOSTERONE LEVELS?

    ——————————————————————–

SCHOOL SHOOTINGS BY DRUGGED MALE, BOY’S  ON RITALIN PUBERTY, TESTOSTERONE

This would be the documented  drugged 90% of school shooters

Some 90 percent of school shootings over more than a decade have been linked to a widely prescribed type of antidepressant called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs, according to British psychiatrist Dr. David Healy, a founder of RxISK.org, an independent website for researching and reporting on prescription drugs.

Skip a pill go out and kill?

    ———————————————————————————————————

Below, United Nations released a report in February of 1996

This would be the documented 10 percent to 12 percent of all male school (boys) children in the United States currently taking drugs.

This would be the documentation  of the all male school (boys) children that consume over 90 percent of the 8.5 tons of methylphenidate produced worldwide each year

The United Nations released a report in February of 1996 expressing concern over the discovery that 10 PERCENT TO 12 PERCENT OF ALL MALE SCHOOL (BOYS) CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES CURRENTLY TAKE THE DRUG, a rate far surpassing that in any other country in the world. Indeed, citizens of the United States, most of them well below the legal drinking or smoking age, now CONSUME OVER 90 PERCENT OF THE 8.5 TONS OF METHYLPHENIDATE PRODUCED WORLDWIDE EACH YEAR

     —————————————————————–

In all of the research and documentation I have ever found  online..

I have never found any mention of boys elevated puberty testosterone linked to school shootings

I have never found any school shooting statistics, data or report, that links

the normal male, boy testosterone timing factor, to timing of school shootings.

So, I researched the elevated peak of testosterone at 8:00am for the 100% male, boy school shooters and linked the history and statistics on the morning school shootings by the 100% male, boy school shooters from 1960 to 2014. And I posted this on my website

Behind My Back | Over 70 K-12 School Shootings?

    www.behindmyback.org/…/after-over-70-k-12-schoolshootings-in-ame…

    The bottom line

Why am I the only person that has researched and reported on this 8:00am highest testosterone level in male, boys,  timing and linked it to the morning timing of  school shootings?

But what we do know and what government agencies have know is this.

Earlier, later PUBERTY MAY TRIGGER AGGRESSION IN BOYS, researchers find

Date May 3, 2010 Source: Penn State

Puberty that arrives earlier or later in adolescent boys relative to their peers CAN TRIGGER CHEMICALS that are related to antisocial behavior, ACCORDING TO RESEARCHERS, whose findings have key implications for parents with aggressive boys.

    ——————————————————————–

Conclusions: There is a link between T, DHT and EXTERNALIZING BEHAVIOR IN MALE ADOLESCENTS AT RISK FOR PSYCHOPATHOLOGY. Due to the findings of highest androgen levels in boys with persistent externalizing behavior, a role of androgens in the development of DISRUPTIVE or later antisocial disorders CAN BE HYPOTHESIZED.

This may appear to be redundant

    Hypothesize these scientific facts

PUBERTY is a physical scientific fact

TESTOSTERONE levels  are a physical testable scientific fact

100% of all K-12 school shooters are boys, males.

(Some 90 percent of school shootings by boys, have been linked  prescription drugs)

100% of K-12 school shooters are going through puberty

(unless they are on…  Ritalin delays puberty)

100% of K-12 school shooters are producing  testosterone

    (unless they are on  Ritalin)

The highest serum testosterone level occurs in the morning at around 8.00 a.m.

Common sense dictates that a new scientific based solution to what has become A NATIONAL TREND,  must  be addressed.

    Boy’s will be Boy’s

Normal boy’s will produce testosterone going through puberty.

Why has the government NEVER researched, connected, investigated, reported or even considered the physical facts of male, boy school shootings?

Why have all school shooting been chalked up as some type of mental disorder?

Has the government used the innocent victims of school shootings as “poster kids” to promote and pass federal regulations on gun control?

    ———————————————————————

In all of the research and documentation I have ever found  online..

I have never found any mention of boys elevated puberty testosterone linked to school shootings

I have never found any school shooting statistics, data or report, that links

the normal male, boy testosterone timing factor, to timing of school shootings.

I researched the elevated peak of testosterone at 8:00am for the 100% male, boy school shooters and linked the history and statistics on the morning school shootings by the 100% male, boy school shooters from 1960 to 2014. And I posted this on my website

    The bottom line

Why am I the only person that has researched and reported on this 8:00am peak testosterone level in male, boys and linked it to the morning timing of  school shootings?

    THOMAS JEFFERSON (1779)

SECTION I. Whereas it appeareth that however certain forms of government are better calculated than others to protect individuals in the free exercise of their natural rights,

and are at the same time themselves better guarded against degeneracy,

yet experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms,

    THOSE ENTRUSTED WITH POWER HAVE, IN TIME, AND BY SLOW OPERATIONS, PERVERTED IT INTO TYRANNY;

And whereas it is generally true that the people will be happiest whose laws are best, and are best administered, and that laws will be wisely formed, and honestly administered, in proportion as those who form and administer them are wise and honest; whence it becomes expedient for promoting the publick happiness that those persons,

A BILL FOR THE MORE GENERAL DIFFUSION OF KNOWLEDGE (continued)

SECT. II. BE it therefore enacted by the General Assembly, that in every county within this commonwealth, there shall be chosen annually, by the electors qualified to vote for Delegates, three of the most honest and able men of their county, to be called the Aldermen of the county; and that the election of the said Aldermen shall be held at the same time and place, before the same persons, and notified and conducted in the same manner as by law is directed for the annual election of Delegates for the county.

SECT. III. THE person before whom such election is holden shall certify to the court of the said county the names of the Aldermen chosen, in order that the same may be entered of record, and shall give notice of their election to the said Aldermen within a fortnight after such election.

SECT. IV. THE said Aldermen on the first Monday in October, if it be fair, and if not, then on the next fair day, excluding Sunday, shall meet at the court-house of their county, and proceed to divide their said county into hundreds, bounding the same by water courses, mountains, or limits, to be run and marked, if they think necessary, by the county surveyor, and at the county expence, regulating the size of the said hundreds, according to the best of their discretion, so as that they may contain a convenient number of children to make up a school, and be of such convenient size that all the children within each hundred may daily attend the school to be established therein, distinguishing each hundred by a particular name; which division, with the names of the several hundreds, shall be returned to the court of the county and be entered of record, and shall remain unaltered until the increase or decrease of inhabitants shall render an alteration necessary, in the opinion of any succeeding Aldermen, and also in the opinion of the court of the county.

SECT. V. THE electors aforesaid residing within every hundred shall meet on the third Monday in October after the first election of Aldermen, at such place, within their hundred, as the said ALDERMEN SHALL DIRECT, NOTICE THEREOF BEING PREVIOUSLY GIVEN TO THEM BY SUCH PERSON RESIDING WITHIN THE HUNDRED AS THE SAID ALDERMEN SHALL REQUIRE WHO IS HEREBY ENJOINED TO OBEY SUCH REQUISITION, ON PAIN OF BEING PUNISHED BY AMERCEMENT AND IMPRISONMENT. The electors being so assembled shall choose the most convenient place within their hundred for building a school-house. If two or more places, having a greater number of votes than any others, shall yet be equal between themselves, the Aldermen, or such of them as are not of the same hundred, on information thereof, shall decide between them. The said Aldermen shall forthwith proceed to have a school-house built at the said place, and shall see that the same be kept in repair, and, when necessary, that it be rebuilt; but whenever they shall think necessary that it be rebuilt, they shall give notice as before directed, to the electors of the hundred to meet at the said school-house, on such day as they shall appoint, to determine by vote, in the manner before directed, whether it shall be rebuilt at the same, or what other place in the hundred.

SECT. VI. AT every of these SCHOOLS SHALL BE TAUGHT READING, WRITING, AND COMMON ARITHMETICK, and THE BOOKS WHICH SHALL BE USED THEREIN FOR INSTRUCTING THE CHILDREN TO READ SHALL BE SUCH AS WILL AT THE SAME TIME MAKE them acquainted with Graecian, Roman,

     ENGLISH, AND AMERICAN HISTORY.

At these schools all the free children, male and female, resident within the respective hundred, shall be intitled to receive tuition gratis, for the term of three years, and as much longer, at their private expence, as their parents, guardians or friends, shall think proper.

SECT. VII. OVER ten of these schools (or such other number nearest thereto, as the number of hundreds in the county will admit, without fractional divisions) an overseer shall be appointed annually by the Aldermen at their first meeting, eminent for his learning, integrity, and fidelity to the commonwealth, whose business and duty it shall be, from time to time, to appoint a teacher to each school, who shall give assurance of fidelity to the commonwealth, and to remove him as he shall see cause; to visit every school once in every half year at the least, to examine the schollars; see that any general plan of reading and instruction recommended by the visiters of William and Mary College shall be observed; and to superintend the conduct of the teacher in every thing relative to his school.

SECT. VIII. EVERY teacher shall receive a salary of by the year, which, with the expences of building and repairing the school houses, shall be provided in such manner as other county expences are by law directed to be provided and shall also have his diet, lodging, and washing found him, to be levied in like manner, save only that such levy shall be on the inhabitants of each hundred for the board of their own teacher only.

SECT. IX. AND in order that grammer schools may be rendered convenient to the youth in every part of the commonwealth, BE it farther enacted, that on the first Monday in November, after the first appointment of overseers for the hundred schools, if fair, and if not, then on the next fair day, excluding Sunday, after the hour of one in the afternoon, the said overseers appointed for the schools in the counties of Princess Ann, Norfolk, Nansemond and Isle-of-Wight, shall meet at Nansemond court house; those for the counties of Southampton, Sussex, Surry and Prince George, shall meet at Sussex court-house; those for the counties of Brunswick, Mecklenburg and Lunenburg, shall meet at Lunenburg court-house; those for the counties of Dinwiddie, Amelia and Chesterfield, shall meet at Chesterfield court-house; those for the counties of Powhatan, Cumberland, Goochland, Henrico and Hanover, shall meet at Henrico court-house; those for the counties of Prince Edward, Charlotte and Halifax, shall meet at Charlotte court-house; those for the counties of Henry, Pittsylvania and Bedford, shall meet at Pittsylvania court-house; those for the counties of Buckingham, Amherst, Albemarle and Fluvanna, shall meet at Albemarle court-house; those for the counties of Botetourt, Rockbridge, Montgomery, Washington and Kentucky, shall meet at Botetourt court-house; those for the counties of Augusta, Rockingham and Greenbrier, shall meet at Augusta court-house; those for the counties of Accomack and Northampton, shall meet at Accomack court-house; those for the counties of Elizabeth City, Warwick, York, Gloucester, James City, Charles City and New Kent, shall meet at James City court-house; those for the counties of Middlesex, Essex, King and Queen, King William and Caroline, shall meet at King and Queen court-house; those for the counties of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland, shall meet at Richmond court-house; those for the counties of King George, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Prince William and Fairfax, shall meet at Spotsylvania court-house; those for the counties of Loudoun and Fauquier, shall meet at Loudoun court-house; those for the counties of Culpeper, Orange and Louisa, shall meet at Orange court-house; those for the counties of Shenandoah and Frederick, shall meet at Frederick court-house; those for the counties of Hampshire and Berkeley, shall meet at Berkeley court house; and those for the counties of Yohogania, Monongalia and Ohio, shall meet at Monongalia court-house; and shall fix on such place in some one of the counties in their district as shall be most proper for situating a grammar school-house, endeavouring that the situation be as central as may be to the inhabitants of the said counties, that it be furnished with good water, convenient to plentiful supplies of provision and fuel, and more than all things that it be healthy. And if a majority of the overseers present should not concur in their choice of any one place proposed, the method of determining shall be as follows: If two places only were proposed, and the votes be divided, they shall decide between them by fair and equal lot; if more than two places were proposed, the question shall be put on those two which on the first division had the greater number of votes; or if no two places had a greater number of votes than the others, as where the votes shall have been equal between one or both of them and some other or others, then it shall be decided by fair and equal lot (unless it can be agreed by a majority of votes) which of the places having equal numbers shall be thrown out of the competition, so that the question shall be put on the remaining two, and if on this ultimate question the votes shall be equally divided, it shall then be decided finally by lot.

SECT. X. THE said overseers having determined the place at which the grammer school for their district shall be built, shall forthwith (unless they can otherwise agree with the proprietors of the circumjacent lands as to location and price) make application to the clerk of the county in which the said house is to be situated, who shall thereupon issue a writ, in the nature of a writ of ad quod damnum, directed to the sheriff of the said county commanding him to summon and impannel twelve fit persons to meet at the place, so destined for the grammer school-house, on a certain day, to be named in the said writ, not less than five, nor more than ten, days from the date thereof; and also to give notice of the same to the proprietors and tenants of the lands to be viewed, if they be to be found within the county, and if not, then to their agents therein if any they have. Which freeholders shall be charged by the said sheriff impartially, and to the best of their skill and judgement to view the lands round about the said place, and to locate and circumscribe, by certain metes and bounds, one hundred acres thereof, having regard therein principally to the benefit and convenience of the said school, but respecting in some measure also the convenience of the said proprietors, and to value and appraise the same in so many several respective interests and estates therein. And after such location and appraisement so made, the said sheriff shall forthwith return the same under the hands and seals of the said jurors, together with the writ, to the clerk’s office of the said county and the right and property of the said proprietors and tenants in the said lands so circumscribed shall be immediately devested and be transferred to the commonwealth for the use of the said grammar school, in full and absolute dominion, any want of consent or disability to consent in the said owners or tenants notwithstanding. But it shall not be lawful for the said overseers so to situate the said grammar school-house, nor to the said jurors so to locate the said lands, as to include the mansion-house of the proprietor of the lands, nor the offices, curtilage, or garden, thereunto immediately belonging.

SECT. XI. THE said overseers shall forthwith proceed to have a house of brick or stone, for the said grammar school, with necessary offices, built on the said lands, which grammer school-house shall contain a room for the school, a hall to dine in, four rooms for a master and usher, and ten or twelve lodging rooms for the scholars.

SECT. XII. TO each of the said grammar schools shall be allowed out of the public treasury, the sum of pounds, out of which shall be paid by the Treasurer, on warrant from the Auditors, to the proprietors or tenants of the lands located, the value of their several interests as fixed by the jury, and the balance thereof shall be delivered to the said overseers to defray the expence of the said buildings.

SECT. XIII. IN these grammar schools shall be taught the Latin and Greek languages, English grammar, geography, and the higher part of numerical arithmetick, to wit, vulgar and decimal fractions, and the extraction of the square and cube roots.

SECT. XIV. A visiter from each county constituting the district shall be appointed, by the overseers, for the county, in the month of October annually, either from their own body or from their county at large, which visiters or the greater part of them, meeting together at the said grammar school on the first Monday in November, if fair, and if not, then on the next fair day, excluding Sunday, shall have power to choose their own Rector, who shall call and preside at future meetings, to employ from time to time a master, and if necessary, an usher, for the said school, to remove them at their will, and to settle the price of tuition to be paid by the scholars. They shall also visit the school twice in every year at the least, either together or separately at their discretion, examine the scholars, and see that any general plan of instruction recommended by the visiters of William and Mary College shall be observed. The said masters and ushers, before they enter on the execution of their office, shall give assurance of fidelity to the commonwealth.

SECT. XV. A steward shall be employed, and removed at will by the master, on such wages as the visiters shall direct; which steward shall see to the procuring provisions, fuel, servants for cooking, waiting, house cleaning, washing, mending, and gardening on the most reasonable terms; the expence of which, together with the steward’s wages, shall be divided equally among all the scholars boarding either on the public or private expence. And the part of those who are on private expence, and also the price of their tuitions due to the master or usher, shall be paid quarterly by the respective scholars, their parents, or guardians, and shall be recoverable, if withheld, together with costs, on motion in any Court of Record, ten days notice thereof being previously given to the party, and a jury impannelled to try the issue joined, or enquire of the damages. The said steward shall also, under the direction of the visiters, see that the houses be kept in repair, and necessary enclosures be made and repaired, the accounts for which, shall, from time to time, be submitted to the Auditors, and on their warrant paid by the Treasurer.

SECT. XVI. EVERY overseer of the hundred schools shall, in the month of September annually, after the most diligent and impartial examination and enquiry, appoint from among the boys who shall have been two years at the least at some one of the schools under his superintendance, and whose parents are too poor to give them farther education, some one of the best and most promising genius and disposition, to proceed to the grammar school of his district; which appointment shall be made in the court-house of the county, on the court day for that month, if fair, and if not, then on the next fair day, excluding Sunday, in the presence of the Aldermen, or two of them at the least, assembled on the bench for that purpose, the said overseer being previously sworn by them to make such appointment, without favor or affection, according to the best of his skill and judgment, and being interrogated by the said Aldermen, either on their own motion, or on suggestions from the parents, guardians, friends, or teachers of the children, competitors for such appointment; which teachers shall attend for the information of the Aldermen. On which interrogatories the said Aldermen, if they be not satisfied with the appointment proposed, shall have right to negative it; whereupon the said visiter may proceed to make a new appointment, and the said Aldermen again to interrogate and negative, and so toties quoties until an appointment be approved.

SECT. XVII. EVERY boy so appointed shall be authorised to proceed to the grammar school of his district, there to be educated and boarded during such time as is hereafter limited; and his quota of the expences of the house together with a compensation to the master or usher for his tuition, at the rate of twenty dollars by the year, shall be paid by the Treasurer quarterly on warrant from the Auditors.

SECT. XVIII. A visitation shall be held, for the purpose of probation, annually at the said grammar school on the last Monday in September, if fair, and if not, then on the next fair day, excluding Sunday, at which one third of the boys sent thither by appointment of the said overseers, and who shall have been there one year only, shall be discontinued as public foundationers, being those who, on the most diligent examination and enquiry, shall be thought to be of the least promising genius and disposition; and of those who shall have been there two years, all shall be discontinued, save one only the best in genius and disposition, who shall be at liberty to continue there four years longer on the public foundation, and shall thence forward be deemed a senior.

SECT. XIX. THE visiters for the districts which, or any part of which, be southward and westward of James river, as known by that name, or by the names of Fluvanna and Jackson’s river, in every other year, to wit, at the probation meetings held in the years, distinguished in the Christian computation by odd numbers, and the visiters for all the other districts at their said meetings to be held in those years, distinguished by even numbers, after diligent examination and enquiry as before directed, shall chuse one among the said seniors, of the best learning and most hopeful genius and disposition, who shall be authorised by them to proceed to William and Mary College, there to be educated, boarded, and clothed, three years; the expence of which annually shall be paid by the Treasurer on warrant from the Auditors.

The Bill was presented in the House of Delegates in 1778 and 1780, but was not passed; James Madison  presented the bill several more times to the state legislature while Jefferson was serving in Paris as Minister to France. A much-revised version was finally passed into law in 1796 as an “Act to Establish Public Schools.”

    ————————————————————–

    THE CLIMATE CHANGE PHENOMENA?

    Ten facts about climate change

    1.     Climate has always changed, and it always will. The assumption that prior to the industrial revolution the Earth had a “stable” climate is simply wrong. The only sensible thing to do about climate change is to prepare for it.

    2.    Accurate temperature measurements made from weather balloons and satellites since the late 1950s show no atmospheric warming since 1958.  In contrast, averaged ground-based thermometers record a warming of about 0.40 C over the same time period. Many scientists believe that the thermometer record is biased by the Urban Heat Island effect and other artefacts.

    3.    Despite the expenditure of more than US$50 billion dollars looking for it since 1990, no unambiguous anthropogenic (human) signal has been identified in the global temperature pattern.

    4.    Without the greenhouse effect, the average surface temperature on Earth would be -180 C rather than the equable +150 C that has nurtured the development of life.

Carbon dioxide is a minor greenhouse gas, responsible for ~26% (80 C) of the total greenhouse effect (330C), of which in turn at most 25% (~20C) can be attributed to carbon dioxide contributed by human activity. Water vapour, contributing at least 70% of the effect, is by far the most important atmospheric greenhouse gas.

    5.    On both annual (1 year) and geological (up to 100,000 year) time scales, changes in atmospheric temperature PRECEDE changes in CO2. Carbon dioxide therefore cannot be the primary forcing agent for temperature increase (though increasing CO2 does cause a diminishingly mild positive temperature feedback).

    6.    The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has acted as the main scaremonger for the global warming lobby that led to the Kyoto Protocol. Fatally, the IPCC is a political, not scientific, body.

Hendrik Tennekes, a retired Director of Research at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute, says that “the IPCC review process is fatally flawed” and that “the IPCC wilfully ignores the paradigm shift created by the foremost meteorologist of the twentieth century, Edward Lorenz“.
    7.    The Kyoto Protocol will cost many trillions of dollars and exercises a significant impost those countries that signed it, but will deliver no significant cooling (less than .020 C by 2050, assuming that all commitments are met).

The Russian Academy of Sciences says that Kyoto has no scientific basis; Andre Illarianov, senior advisor to Russian president Putin, calls Kyoto-ism “one of the most agressive, intrusive, destructive ideologies since the collapse of communism and fascism“. If Kyoto was a “first step” then it was in the same wrong direction as the later “Bali roadmap”.

    8.    Climate change is a non-linear (chaotic) process, some parts of which are only dimly or not at all understood. No deterministic computer model will ever be able to make an accurate prediction of climate 100 years into the future.
    9.    Not surprisingly, therefore, experts in computer modelling agree also that no current (or likely near-future) climate model is able to make accurate predictions of regional climate change.
    10.   The biggest untruth about human global warming is the assertion that nearly all scientists agree that it is occurring, and at a dangerous rate.

The reality is that almost every aspect of climate science is the subject of vigorous debate. Further, thousands of qualified scientists worldwide have signed declarations which (i) query the evidence for hypothetical human-caused warming and (ii) support a rational scientific (not emotional) approach to its study within the context of known natural climate change.

    ——————————————————————————–

    GLOBAL WARMING  PHENOMENA?

    LAYING TEN GLOBAL WARMING MYTHS

Myth 1     Average global temperature (AGT) has increased over the last few years.

Fact 1       Within error bounds, AGT has not increased since 1995 and has declined since 2002, despite an increase in atmospheric CO2 of 8% since 1995.

Myth 2     During the late 20th Century, AGT increased at a dangerously fast rate and reached an unprecedented magnitude.

Facts 2      The late 20th Century AGT rise was at a rate of 1-20 C/century, which lies well within natural rates of climate change for the last 10,000 yr. AGT has been several degrees warmer than today many times in the recent geological past.

Myth 3     AGT was relatively unchanging in pre-industrial times, has sky-rocketed since 1900, and will increase by several degrees more over the next 100 years (the Mann, Bradley & Hughes “hockey stick” curve and its computer extrapolation).

Facts 3      The Mann et al. curve has been exposed as a statistical contrivance. There is no convincing evidence that past climate was unchanging, nor that 20th century changes in AGT were unusual, nor that dangerous human warming is underway.

Myth 4     Computer models predict that AGT will increase by up to 60 C over the next 100 years.

Facts 4      Deterministic computer models do. Other equally valid (empirical) computer models predict cooling.

Myth 5     Warming of more than 20 C will have catastrophic effects on ecosystems and mankind alike.

Facts 5      A 20 C change would be well within previous natural bounds. Ecosystems have been adapting to such changes since time immemorial. The result is the process that we call evolution. Mankind can and does adapt to all climate extremes.

Myth 6     Further human addition of CO2 to the atmosphere will cause dangerous warming, and is generally harmful.

Facts 6      No human-caused warming can yet be detected that is distinct from natural system variation and noise. Any additional human-caused warming which occurs will probably amount to less than 10 C. Atmospheric CO2 is a beneficial fertilizer for plants, including especially cereal crops, and also aids efficient evapo-transpiration.

Myth 7     Changes in solar activity cannot explain recent changes in AGT.

Facts 7      The sun’s output varies in several ways on many time scales (including the 11-, 22 and 80-year solar cycles), with concomitant effects on Earth’s climate. While changes in visible radiation are small, changes in particle flux and magnetic field are known to exercise a strong climatic effect. More than 50% of the 0.80 C rise in AGT observed during the 20th century can be attributed to solar change.

Myth 8     Unprecedented melting of ice is taking place in both the north and south polar regions.

Facts 8      Both the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are growing in thickness and cooling at their summit. Sea ice around Antarctica attained a record area in 2007. Temperatures in the Arctic region are just now achieving the levels of natural warmth experienced during the early 1940s, and the region was warmer still (sea-ice free) during earlier times.

Myth 9     Human-caused global warming is causing dangerous global sea-level (SL) rise.

Facts 9      SL change differs from time to time and place to place; between 1955 and 1996, for example, SL at Tuvalu fell by 105 mm (2.5 mm/yr). Global average SL is a statistical measure of no value for environmental planning purposes. A global average SL rise of 1-2 mm/yr occurred naturally over the last 150 years, and shows no sign of human-influenced increase.

Myth 10   The late 20th Century increase in AGT caused an increase in the number of severe storms (cyclones), or in storm intensity.

Facts 10    Meteorological experts are agreed that no increase in storms has occurred beyond that associated with natural variation of the climate system.

    (remember the ice age?)

It is often said that non-scientists must rely on “expert opinion” to determine whether claims on alleged “catastrophic man-made global warming” are true. Putting aside the fact that there is no global-warming “consensus” among experts, one does not have to be a scientist, or even proficient in science, to be able to review past predictions, and then form an informed opinion regarding the accuracy of those predictions.

Suppose, for example, you regularly watch a local TV weatherman forecast the weather for your area. Would you need a degree in meteorology in order to decide for yourself how reliable, or unreliable, the weatherman’s forecasts are?

Warnings have been issued for many decades now regarding catastrophic climate change that forecasted certain trends or occurrences that we should already have witnessed. Yet such predictions have turned out to be very, very wrong. This was certainly the case with the alarmist predictions of the 1960s and ’70s that man’s activities on Earth were causing a catastrophic cooling trend that would bring on another ice age. And it is also the case with the more recent claims about catastrophic global warming.

    ————————————————————————————

    The Telecommunications Act of 1996?

    and its consequences?

The Act denigrates health concerns by assuming that FCC standards for electromagnetic emissions will protect the public health.

Denigrates by definition, to speak damagingly of; criticize in a derogatory manner; sully; defame: to denigrate. to treat? or represent? as lacking in value? or importance? belittle; disparage: PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERNS?

    —————————————————————————

    read the full document http://rense.com/general81/emfs.htm

    Dr. Robert O. Becker, M.D.

At present, in the so-called “democratic” USA, the “Telecommunications Act of 1996” an undemocratic and unconstitutional US law on the books

Prohibits communities to legally object to the erection of cell phone towers on the basis of health or environmental concerns.

This hence MAKES IT AGAINST THE LAW TO TRY TO PROTECT ONE’S HEALTH OR THE HEALTH OF THE ENVIRONMENT BECAUSE OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS HAVE FOUND IT MORE IMPORTANT TO PROTECT THE MOBILE-PHONE INDUSTRY’S PROFITS.

The Act also specifically prohibits states and local governments from regulating the placement and construction of communications facilities, like antennas and towers,

ON THE BASIS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS IF THE FACILITIES MEET FCC STANDARDS FOR EMISSIONS.

The Act pays lip service to the importance of local zoning regulation, sufficient to encourage litigation, but without any genuine recognition of the importance of a homeowner’s property values, peace of mind, and, particularly, health concerns.

THE ACT DENIGRATES HEALTH CONCERNS by assuming that FCC standards for electromagnetic emissions will protect the public health. That assumption [was] premature, given the large amount of ongoing scientific research on the subject and the lack of clear conclusions.

The Congressional Conference Report indicates that the Act preempts state and local regulation of the environmental effects of electromagnetic emissions when it has requirements beyond those of FCC rules.

This preemption discourages states from doing their own research on the health effects of these emissions because they cannot rely on the results in formulating regulations. That result does a disservice to the public.

THE FCC, IN PROMULGATING ITS RULES SETTING A SPECIFIC ABSORPTION RATE LIMIT FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC EMISSIONS AT FOUR WATTS PER KILOGRAM,

Noted that  research in this area related to human health and safety is ongoing and that changes to recommended exposure limits are possible in the future.

With that admitted uncertainty, it is unreasonable to limit what states and local governments may do to protect their residents. (Martin)

This extremely undemocratic law is outright morally wrong and moreover is not only a clear violation of the right of every American to protect themselves, but also a clear violation of laws meant to protect our precious animals: (1) the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, (2) the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and (3) the Endangered Species Act. Hence, on these grounds, it should be immediately and unconditionally rescinded. The evidence collected at this point that this technology is extremely harmful to both human and animal life on this planet is completely and utterly overwhelming and this is in spite of the mobile-phone industry’s attempt to control the government and to manipulate both the science and the media. To protect life on this planet regardless of any economic concerns these towers must be taken down now!

Sept. 17, 2014 WA STATE Appointed AGENCIES, including  ECOLOGY (DOE) have become AN INTIMIDATING AND THREATENING OMNIPRESENCE. They are  present in all places and at all times that LOCAL SMP UPDATES and/or  Water Rules  are discussed and at every LOCAL Public Meeting in every county, city and town in WA State.

     So  what’s WRONG with that?

    Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2014 1:20 PM

Subject: RE: Ecology’s Expedited Rule Making?

    Dear Ms. Hewett,

We want to acknowledge receipt of your objection to the use of the expedited rule-making process for the purposes of repealing two rules:

    • Chapter 173-330 WAC – Used Automotive Oil Recycling Sign Requirements for Automotive Oil Sellers

    • Chapter 173-24 WAC – Tax Exemptions and Credits for Pollution Control Facilities

Why we are using the expedited process

We would like to save taxpayers time and money, and we hope some clarification will be helpful.  The Department of Ecology is proposing to eliminate these two rules because the Legislature changed the  laws that originally authorized these rules, and the rules can no longer be used.  Repealing these rules is essentially cleaning house.  We don’t want the public to be confused by rules that can no longer be implemented, but we can’t take them off the books without telling people.

Because these rules are either invalid or no longer serve a purpose, we must repeal them as a matter of good stewardship.  The expedited process we are proposing will save the taxpayers money. If we go through the non-expedited process required for some rule making, the process will be longer and cost more.

Why these rules are no longer needed:

Chapter 173-330 WAC requires sellers of oil to post a sign visible to the public at or near the point of sale that indicates used oil is recyclable and where used oil may be properly disposed.  The statute authorizing Chapter 173-330 WAC (Chapter 19.114 RCW) was repealed in 1991 and replaced with Chapter 70.95I RCW.  The requirements for signs in Chapter 70.95I RCW are different from those in Chapter 19.114 RCW, so the provisions of Chapter 173-330 are no longer valid.

Chapter 173-24 WAC describes Ecology’s process for approving tax credits for pollution control measures authorized by Chapter 82.34 RCW.  In 1981, the legislature amended Chapter 82.34 RCW to provide that applications for pollution control tax credits could not be filed after November 30, 1981.  Since Ecology can no longer accept applications for pollution control tax credits, the provisions in Chapter 173-24 WAC serve no purpose.

    Please consider withdrawing your objection

With the above in mind, would you would be willing to withdraw your objection?  If so, please send us an email letting us know you withdraw your objection.  We also would be happy to discuss this with you if you can provide a number where we can reach you.

Thank you for your further consideration.

34 School shooters/school related violence committed by those under the influence of psychiatric drugs

Seattle, Washington – June 5, 2014: 26-year-old Aaron Ybarra opened fire with a shotgun at Seattle Pacific University, killing one student and wounding two others. Ybarra planned to kill as many people as possible and then kill himself. In 2012, Ybarra reported that he had been prescribed the antidepressant Prozac and antipsychotic Risperdal. A report from his counselor in December of 2013 said that he was taking Prozac at the time and planned to continue to meet with his psychiatrist and therapist as needed.

“In virtually every mass school shooting during the past 15 years, the shooter has been on or in withdrawal from psychiatric drugs,” observed Lawrence Hunter of the Social Security Institute. “YET, FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS CONTINUE TO IGNORE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS AND MURDEROUS VIOLENCE, preferring instead to exploit these tragedies in an oppressive and unconstitutional power grab to snatch guns away from innocent, law-abiding people who are guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution the right to own and bear arms to deter government tyranny and to use firearms in self defense against any miscreant who would do them harm.”

Despite the abundance of such evidence and a glut of scientific studies proving real danger, “THERE HAS YET TO BE A FEDERAL INVESTIGATION ON THE LINK BETWEEN PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS AND ACTS OF SENSELESS VIOLENCE,” according to the Citizens Commission on Human Rights International (CCHRI), a non-profit mental health watchdog group.

CCHRI states that GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ARE WELL AWARE OF THE CONNECTION. “Between 2004 and 2011, there have been over 11,000 reports to the U.S. FDA’s MedWatch system of PSYCHIATRIC DRUG SIDE EFFECTS RELATED TO VIOLENCE,” including 300 homicides. The FDA estimates this total is less than 10 percent of the actual number of incidents since most go unreported.

FACTS ARE STUBBORN THINGS; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of  facts and evidence.

Antidepressants are psychiatric drugs that form a common thread in school shootings. There are five categories of antidepressants: selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI), selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI), tricyclic antidepressants (TCA), and atypical antidepressants. Despite the moniker, doctors prescribe these medicines for much more than depression. They use them to treat such ailments as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder (SAD), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Other suspect medications, such as Ritalin, Adderal, and Concerta, are sympathomimetic amines, prescribed to treat ADHD.

Hillsborough, North Carolina – August 30, 2006: 19-year-old Alvaro Rafael Castillo shot and killed his father, then drove to Orange High School where he opened fire. Two students were injured in the shooting, which ended when school personnel tackled him. His mother said he was on drugs for depression.

Chapel Hill, North Carolina – April 2006: 17-year-old William Barrett Foster took a shotgun to school and took a teacher and a fellow student hostage at East Chapel Hill High School. After being talked out of shooting the hostages, Foster fired two shots through a classroom window before fleeing the school on foot. Foster’s father testified that his son had stopped taking his antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs without telling him.

Red Lake, Minnesota – March 21, 2005: 16-year-old Jeff Weise, on Prozac, shot and killed his grandparents, then went to his school on the Red Lake Indian Reservation where he shot dead 5 students, a security guard, and a teacher, and wounded 7 before killing himself.

    Psychiatric Meds: Prescription for Murder?

In a frenzied cry for gun-control, the media is rife with details about the firearms Adam Lanza used to kill 20 children and six adults before turning a handgun on himself at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 14, 2012. But information about Lanza’s medical history is scarce, feeding speculation that he may fit the profile of school shooters under the influence of psychotherapeutic medication.

There is a striking connection between school shootings and psychotherapeutic drugs, also known as psychotropics. Consider these examples:

    AND, THE LIST GOES ON….
    • Toby Sincino, a 15-year-old who shot two teachers and himself in 1995 at his South Carolina school, was taking the antidepressant Zoloft.

    • Kip Kinkel, an Oregon teen who murdered his parents and proceeded on a shooting rampage at his high school in 1998, killed two and wounded 25 while in Prozac withdrawal.

    • Shawn Cooper fired two shotgun rounds in 1999 at his Idaho high school while on an antidepressant.

    • T.J. Solomon, Jr. was 15 years old when he shot six classmates in Atlanta in 1999. He was taking Ritalin and was also being treated for depression.

    • Eric Harris was one of the assailants at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999. His autopsy revealed a therapeutic level of the antidepressant Luvox in his system.

    • Jason Hoffman wounded five people with a shotgun at his California high school in 2001 while on two antidepressant medications, Celexa and Effexor.

    • Jeffrey Weise, a student at Red Lake High School in Minnesota, killed 10 and wounded seven in 2005 while on Prozac.

    • Matti Saari, a college student in Finland, shot and killed 10 people before committing suicide at his university in 2008. The Finnish Ministry of Justice later reported he was taking an antidepressant and an anti-anxiety medication.

    • Steve Kazmierczak killed six including himself at Northern Illinois University in 2008 while in withdrawal from the antidepressant Prozac.

    • Tim Kretschmer murdered 15 students and teachers at his secondary school in Germany in 2009, and then committed suicide. Police reported Kretschmer was taking prescriptions to treat depression.

A 2002 Fox News interview with Cory Baadsgaard sheds some light on the possible mental state of these criminals. The year before, at age 16, Baadsgaard held a high-school class hostage at gunpoint in Washington state. Fortunately, no one was killed or physically hurt during the incident. The young man remembers the day in this way: “In the morning I didn’t feel like going to school. I felt sick; didn’t feel like I could get up very well. So I went back to bed. And the next thing I remember I’m in juvie in the detention center where I used to live.” Baadsgaard says he has no memory of the incident. He was tried as an adult but spent only 14 months in prison because expert psychiatric testimony convinced the jury his crime was the result of adverse reactions the antidepressants Effexor and Paxil.

However, there has been little government action at all, with one exception. Due to the “large body of scientific research establishing a connection between violence and suicide and the use of psychotropic drugs,” the New York State Senate introduced a bill in 2000 to “require police to report to the Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), certain crimes and suicides committed by persons using psychotropic drugs.” The bill died in committee, and the issue remains unresolved.

Instead, in response to the Sandy Hook tragedy and ignoring the obvious, Senator Toni Nathaniel Harp and Representative Toni E. Walker, both Democrats of the Connecticut General Assembly, introduced Bill 374, “requiring behavioral health assessments for children,” mandating psychiatric testing for public school students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 and for homeschooled children at ages 12, 14, and 17. The assessments would have to be reported to the State Board of Education, and there is great likelihood that more children would end up on psychiatric meds after such tests.

There is also plenty of official agitation for gun control. Hunter suggests instead, “It is pharmaceutical makers, not law-abiding gun owners or gun manufacturers, who should be held to account for the series of ‘lone-wolf’ mass shootings that have occurred since the widespread use of psychiatric drugs began.”

    Drugs on the Firing Line

These medicines act on the body’s nervous system — altering its chemical communication pathways to affect areas of the brain involved in judgment, abstract reasoning, memory, emotions, and the fight-or-flight response — explains Michelle Morrison-Valfre, MHS, FNP in her 2005 book, Foundations of Mental Health Care. The expected result is a calm mood and clear thinking. However, in some cases unexpected results occur.

The Physicians’ Desk Reference (PDR), an authoritative source of all FDA-approved drug labeling information, identifies the potential hazardous side effects of psychotherapeutics, including suicidal and homicidal ideation. Unfortunately, such effects are not uncommon. In fact, when taking a particular medication poses serious risks, the FDA requires drug manufacturers to highlight the dangers in eye-catching boxes on pharmaceutical packaging. A drug’s “black box warning” alerts consumers to the major hazards they face when taking that medicine. Most prescriptions do not have black box warnings — only those that can cause extreme adverse reactions compared to the potential benefit. Among psychotherapeutics’ black box warnings are:

    • “Increased risk of suicidal ideation in short-term studies in children and adolescents with ADHD.” (Strattera, SNRI)

    • “Antidepressants increased risk of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in short-term studies in children, adolescents and young adults with major depressive disorder and other psychiatric disorders.” (Zoloft, SSRI)

    • “Monitor appropriately and observe closely for clinical worsening, suicidality or unusual changes in behavior for all patients who are started on antidepressant therapy.” (Parnate, MAOI)

    • “High potential for abuse; avoid prolonged use. Misuse of amphetamine may cause sudden death and serious cardiovascular events.” (Adderal, sympathomimetic amine)

Additionally, all depression and ADHD therapies contain FDA-mandated warnings for caregivers to monitor for suicidal thinking, worsening of depression symptoms, and unusual changes in behavior. Patients taking the tricyclic Elavil are cautioned to “seek medical attention for symptoms of mania, increasing psychosis or paranoia.” Literature warns parents of children on Ritalin that “stimulants at usual doses can cause treatment emergent psychotic or manic symptoms (hallucinations, delusional thinking, mania) in children and adolescents without prior history of psychotic illness.” (Emphasis added.) The PDR also reports clinical trials have identified aggressive behavior and hostility as notable side effects of ADHD medications.

The advent of these drugs coincides disturbingly with a rise in the adolescent suicide rate. Ritalin was introduced in 1956. Antidepressants made their debut in the early 1960s, according to Morrison-Valfre, who noted elsewhere in her text that statistics from the U.S. Bureau of the Census reveal, “from 1960 to 2000 the rate of adolescent suicide more than doubled.” This may be coincidental, but it is unnerving in light of these drugs’ well-known adverse effects.

One thing, however, is certain. Prior to the advent of antidepressants, there was little relation between depression and violent behavior. “One of the things in the past that we’ve known about depression is that it very, very rarely leads to violence,” observed psychiatrist Peter Breggin in a Fox News report. “It’s only been since the advent of these new SSRI drugs that we have murderers, sometimes even mass murderers, taking antidepressant drugs.”

Dr. Breggin is an expert in the mental health field and an outspoken critic of psychiatric drug overuse. Among his more than 20 books on the topic is Brain-Disabling Treatments in Psychiatry (2008), in which he recounts a significant clinical trial involving children taking Prozac. Fourteen percent of the study’s subjects became aggressive and even violent on the drug, but the experience of a 12-year-old boy is particularly disturbing. Quoting the study, Breggin writes:

Thirty-eight days after beginning the protocol, F. experienced a violent nightmare about killing his classmates until he himself was shot. He awakened from it only with difficulty, and the dream continued to feel “very real.” He reported having had several days of increasingly vivid “bad dreams” before this episode; these included images of killing himself and his parents dying. When he was seen later that day he was agitated and anxious, refused to go to school, and reported marked suicidal ideation that made him feel unsafe at home as well.

Breggin notes the boy cannot be labeled a copycat since the study was conducted in 1991, long before the highly publicized school shootings of more recent years. Once the child stopped taking Prozac, his symptoms disappeared.

    The Drug Pushers

Instead of investigating psychiatric drugs’ connection to acts of mass violence, public policymakers and healthcare professionals actually promote the use of psychotropic drugs by children and adolescents. The New York Review of Books published a June 2011 review by Dr. Marcia Angell, former editor of The New England Journal of Medicine, called “The Epidemic of Mental Illness: Why?” She summed up the problem saying:

The tally of those who are so disabled by mental disorders that they qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) increased nearly two and a half times between 1987 and 2007 — from one in 184 Americans to one in seventy-six. For children, the rise is even more startling — a thirty-five-fold increase in the same two decades. Mental illness is now the leading cause of disability in children, well ahead of physical disabilities like cerebral palsy or Down syndrome, for which the federal programs were created.

Angell relates that psychiatric treatment shifted from “talk therapy” to drug therapy in the 1950s when doctors noticed new drugs meant to treat infections also “blunted disturbing mental symptoms” by affecting the levels of certain chemicals in the brain. Out of that observation was born the theory that mental illness is a result of chemical imbalances. “Thus, instead of developing a drug to treat an abnormality, an abnormality was postulated to fit a drug,” observed Angell. “That was a great leap in logic.” She noted that subsequent studies have proven such chemical imbalances do not in fact exist in patients diagnosed with psychiatric disorders such as depression. It is only after a person takes a psychiatric medication that the brain begins to function abnormally.

Moreover, diagnosing mental illness is largely a subjective endeavor, unlike other fields of medicine that rely on objective lab data or scans and x-rays for diagnosis. So says psychiatrist Daniel Carlat in his 2010 book Unhinged: The Trouble With Psychiatry — A Doctor’s Revelations About a Profession in Crisis. “Our diagnoses are subjective and expandable, and we have few rational reasons for choosing one treatment over another,” admits Carlat.

Eager to exploit the benefits of the chemical theory and aware of the “subjective and expandable” nature of diagnosing mental illness, drug companies vigorously subsidize the psychiatric profession. In his 2010 exposé Anatomy of an Epidemic, Robert Whitaker notes that besides the gifts and fringe benefits given directly to psychiatrists, especially those at influential academic centers, drug companies generously support psychiatric associations, patient advocacy groups, and educational organizations. They fund around one-fifth of the budget of the American Psychiatric Association. In the first quarter of 2009 alone, pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly donated more than $1.2 million to mental health non-profits.

Angell goes on to explain how drug companies peddle their wares. In order to have a drug approved, pharmaceutical manufacturers must submit to the FDA two clinical trials proving a product more effective than a placebo. Drug companies can perform as many trials as they wish in order to achieve the two successful tests they need. Positive studies are highly publicized while the negative are suppressed. In a review of tests for the six most widely used antidepressants between 1987 and 1999 — Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Serzone, and Effexor — Angell reported, “Most of them were negatives. Overall, placebos were 82 percent as effective as the drugs.… The average difference between drug and placebo … was clinically meaningless.”

Convinced by positive reports of the drugs’ benefits, doctors prescribe them liberally. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention divulged in 2011 that 11 percent of Americans age 12 years and over take antidepressant medication. CDC statistics also revealed a 400-percent increase in the rate of antidepressant use in the United States between 1988 and 2008. As of 2008, antidepressants were the most frequently used drug by persons aged 18-44 years.

The problem is not confined to the United States. Last year the Guardian reported prescriptions for Ritalin in the U.K. quadrupled from 2000 to 2010, and between 2006 and 2010 the United States witnessed an 83-percent increase in sales. The U.K.’s Association of Educational Psychologists complains that physicians are ignoring the professional union’s recommendation not to prescribe ADHD medication to most children under age six. “We need to show young people how to deal with the normal stresses and strains of growing up,” argues Member of Parliament Tessa Munt. “Resorting to powerful drugs only stores up trouble for the future.”

The University of Utah’s Genetic Science Learning Center says that Ritalin is currently prescribed to approximately six million people in the United States, of which 75 percent are children. Its data also confirm between 30 and 50 percent of adolescents in drug treatment centers report abusing Ritalin. And because of the medication’s similarity to cocaine, once these teens reach adulthood they are more prone to cocaine addiction.

Angell acknowledges the long-term effects of psychiatric drugs have yet to be proven. But she quotes several psychiatric researchers, including a former director of the National Institute of Mental Health, who contend that by upsetting normal brain chemistry, these medications cause brain cells to become desensitized to or overcompensate for the disturbances the drugs cause. In other words, the drugs can trigger chemical imbalance where none existed in the first place, hence the emergence of adverse effects like mania and suicidal/homicidal ideation, especially when a psychotropic drug is first started or stopped. Other research shows a relation between these drugs and brain atrophy, an often irreparable decrease in the size and number of brain cells.

    The Connecticut Case

Fox News reported, after an initial search of Lanza’s home, investigators found no indication the 20-year-old was taking prescriptions. Other evidence suggests he was. Louise Tambascio, a friend of Lanza’s mother, told CBS News’ Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes, “I know he was on medication and everything.” ABC News also interviewed Tambascio, who repeated, “I knew he was on medication.”

Connecticut’s chief medical examiner, H. Wayne Carver II, is currently conducting toxicology exams to determine if Lanza was using any behavior-modifying drugs. Many think it likely. Days after the Sandy Hook massacre, standing outside Lanza’s home, CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta commented, “What medications was he on? I’m specifically talking about antidepressants. If you look at the studies of other shootings like this that have happened, medications like this were a common factor.” In a December 16 Fox News interview, former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge also warned of the undeniable link between youth violence and psychiatric drugs.

Most media choose to ignore such warnings and even downplay the obvious. The Associated Press published a January 11 report entitled, “Connecticut shooting: Medical examiner says gunman’s body won’t reveal much.” It claims that “Connecticut’s chief medical examiner says he doubts toxicological tests and genetic analysis of the body of the gunman who fatally shot 20 children and six educators at an elementary school will explain his actions.” In a glaring contradiction the same article later notes, “The toxicology exam, which could take several weeks, involves testing body fluids for psychiatric medications or illegal substances. Carver said the result could provide ‘potentially valuable information’ in creating a full picture of Lanza.”

Meanwhile, government officials and anti-gun activists continue to use the tragedy in the Constitution State to deprive Americans of the constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. Whether Adam Lanza’s toxicology tests reveal psychiatric medications were involved in his rampage is not likely to deter their frenzied zeal.
