The proof of this conspiracy has and is being proven in the step by step acquisition of private and DNR land by the National Park Service, as this is being written and during the last 21 years from 1992 to 2013.

The nine page summary includes some of the 48 year history of Clallam County from 1944 to 1992 and is his proof of the conspiracy.

It’s a good read from a historical standpoint and a cautionary statement to the citizens of Clallam County. Could this happen to Clallam Country by imminent domain, isolation, regulation, restriction and/or economic starvation?

Ceremony marks change of name to Daniel J. Evans Wilderness

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Dignitaries will gather at Hurricane Ridge today to celebrate the dedication of the Daniel J. Evans Wilderness.

Daniel Evans is a former U.S. senator and Washington governor whose efforts played a key role in the preservation of more than 1.7 million acres of wilderness in the state, Olympic National Park officials said.

The Olympic Wilderness, which covers 95 percent of the park, has been renamed to honor Evans for his contributions to wilderness preservation, park spokeswoman Penny Wagner said.

“It’s not changing the wilderness,” Wagner added. “It’s not adding or subtracting land. It’s just a renaming of the existing wilderness.”

The public is invited to the dedication ceremony.

The event will be from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the west end of the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center parking lot.

Parking will be available on a first-come, first served basis.

Invited speakers are Evans, U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell, U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer, former U.S. Rep. Norm Dicks, state Sen. Hans Zeiger, Olympic National Park Acting Superintendent Lee Taylor and Sequim author Tim McNulty.

In 2016, Cantwell, D-Mountlake Terrace, and U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Seattle, introduced S. 3028, while H.R. 5397 was sponsored by members of the Washington delegation in the House, including Derek Kilmer.

Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, represents the 6th Congressional District, which includes the North Olympic Peninsula.

The bill was signed into law Dec. 14, 2016, by President Barack Obama.

President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Wilderness Act into law in 1964 “to secure for the American people of present and future generations the benefits of an enduring resource of wilderness,” Olympic National Park officials said in a news release.

The idea was to preserve a remnant of the country’s untamed, wild places as wilderness for the permanent good of the people.

Wilderness areas help protect complex ecosystems, natural processes and habitat for threatened and endangered species, park officials said.

In March 1988, Evans introduced the Washington Park Wilderness Act with former Sen. Brock Adams.

The bill proposed more than 1.7 million acres of wilderness within Olympic, Mount Rainier and North Cascades national parks. It was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in November 1988.

The act designated 877,000 acres in Olympic National Park as the Olympic Wilderness.

Evans served three terms as Washington governor from 1965 to 1977. He was a senator from 1983 to 1989.

Evans and his wife, Nancy Evans, live in Seattle’s Laurelhurst neighborhood.

    Redoubt News

Kiss Idaho Goodbye: Another Major Land Takeover

For Idaho, not only is there the Columbia River Treaty re-negotiations that will take control of all water resources, there is also another major land take over.

There are a multitude of Idaho non-profits and United Nations (UN) non-governmental organizations (NGO) that are aggressively pursuing connectivity projects.  Essentially the goal is to connect large swaths of land in Idaho’s east corner which neighbors Montana and Wyoming.  They would love to see this land all locked up into one major landscape of wilderness, for wildlife only.

The  High Divide (HD), Crown of the Continent (COC), Yellowstone to Yukon (Y2Y), Greater Yellowstone (GY), and the land trust partnership group Heart of the Rockies Initiative (HOR), are just a few of the organizations that are destructively working to create wildlife corridors in the Island Park area.

Each of these organizations are connected to UN NGOs such as the Nature Conservancy (NC), Wilderness Society (WS), and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).  Don’t be fooled by the new UN addition in red, a disclaimer that unless the organization is in consultative status it does not connote affiliation with the UN.  That is flat out not true.  And like children playing in a sandbox these groups all play with each other, are interconnected, and overwhelm us with their agenda.

Anyway, here is the map that shows how much land they are after with the Salmon Selway not even included in this discussion.  This map is proudly displayed on the WCS website, a trophy of the successful tromping of Idaho.

    Kiss Idaho Goodbye

Quite a bit of money contributes to this takeover.  Just the Greater Yellowstone alone has over 10 million dollars in their coffersWhere do they get all that money?  Part of it is your tax dollar.

Now your tax dollar goes to this in other ways as well.  The Federal Highway Administration (FHA) believes in creating wildlife corridors which eventually contribute to connectivity and have spent your money to study it and figure out how many wildlife are affected by collisions.  Forget how it has impacted humans.  You are even paying your governor to participate in this through the Western Governors’ Association (WGA).

But don’t forget the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), your state taxes are used for this nonsense as well.  Four years ago Idaho Fish & Game honored an ITD Senior Environmental Planner for his success in collectively garnering over 718,000 dollars to study (affectionately known as the Cramer study) where wolverines and bears migrate, and a study to prioritize wildlife collision areas.  Here is the 2016 report and on page 6 you can see all the recommended overpasses, underpasses, fencing, traffic calming, and driver warning systems for Highway 20 in Island Park.  What is truly remarkable about this is while our Idaho roads and bridges crumble there is plenty of money to spend on figuring out where cars collide with wildlife and put money into building a road for them.  And here is the Highway 20 priority map for those animals.  Now it makes sense why Idaho registration fees went up and why the current legislature has a huge task in front of them to fund transportation.

Those bunnies need a safe passageway.

Now there are many working tirelessly on this so surely it must all be coordinated together.  Who else but the Great Northern Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GNLCC) to the rescue for connectivity.  Established by the Department of Interior (DOI), it is an “international” network to advance collaborative landscape conservation.  Here is the amount of land the GNLCC wants to take and a link to the data they have been collecting.  Remember, this is the federal government doing it, not some obscure group.  There are a multitude of participants, including multiple UN affiliates, making decisions about Idaho.

    Kiss Idaho Goodbye

In a nutshell, the DOI created an organization that promotes these UN affiliated lunatics taking more land away from Idahoans.  Originating in 2009 with order 3289, and advancing it with order 3330, then announcing the truth to “develop opportunities to further establish partnerships that benefit Tribes and Federal agencies” in order 3342.

The National Park Service (NPS) and US Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) were granted the privilege of administering the GNLCC in 2010.  The implementation plan includes partnerships with land protection NGOs and land trusts, Canada, IUCN, USFS, and the BLM while using the Endangered Species Act to justify its means.  Of course they are using your tax dollar to stick it to you, not only in this way but in grants as well, up to one million.

But the truth is, it is just the UN agenda.  As a partner to the DOI, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has been promoting connectivity for a very long time.  As well, the FWS has its own comradely with the UN for migratory species protection.  According to Agenda 2030, Goal 15.5, we are assigned the task to “Take urgent and significant action to reduce the degradation of natural habitats…”.  Roadkill should certainly be a focus to ensure a natural habitat is protected in a way that it does not cause harm to the animal.  As this Agenda 2030 document explains in #33, “We are therefore determined to conserve and…protect biodiversity, ecosystems and wildlife.”  Look forward to paying for animal roads.

The federal and state governments, as usual, are taking our money and using it against us, turning it over to UN groups for them to implement UN objectives.  Can President Trump undo all of this?  Or will it take the masses to finally stand up and say no more.  How can the tiny community of Island Park fight this off?  What are our legislators doing to stop this?  Idahoans just continue to see our state being eaten up by government with its UN partnerships.

    Kiss Idaho Goodbye.

Marv Chastian – Back to 1492

A plan which is now in process of becoming federal policy ~ was hatched many years ago by two radical eco-freaks – Dave Forman the Earthfirst guy and Oregon State prof, Reed Noss.

    ——————————————————————————–

“It is a bold attempt to grope our way back to October 1492 and find a different trail, a trail overgrown and nearly forgotten” – Words of Dave Forman, founder of Earth First – and more recently, a director of The Sierra Club. He goes on to describe his intellectual child, The Wildlands Plan: “We seek wolf tracks rather than gold” . . “Return big, charismatic species such as buffalo, grizzly bears, elk, wolves, puma (otherwise known as cougars) to their pre-Columbian haunts.” These are words he used to describe his plan for America – about 20 years ago. At the time, it appeared to be just another crazy rant. Today, it is a shadow plan being stealthily realized by government fiat.
He goes on: “a vast system of connected wilderness reserves that would crisscross the continent . These reserves would dwarf the largest national parks. Rather than build roads, laborers would remove existing ones, along with dams, power lines and other human-made structures. Planners would choose the reserve sites with plants and animals, not people , in mind, selecting them not for recreational opportunities, but for their ecological potential. Up to half the contiguous United States would be involved in a transformation whereby “islands” of civilization would be surrounded by wilderness tracts and corridors.”
Note: since the animals would be connected, the people would not – except by air – and probably we would be forbidden to use airplanes, since they might disturb the animals.

“We live for the day when grizzlies in Chihuahua have an unbroken connection to grizzlies in Alaska, when grey wolf populations are continuous from New Mexico to Greenland, when vast, unbroken forests and flowing plains again thrive and support pre-Columian populations of plants and animals”. So says Forman and co-author Reed Noss, prof at Oregon State in Corvallis, OR.

50 Grizzlies require about 12 million acres – about a dozen Olympic National Parks)

“Our goal is to create a new political reality based on the needs of other species”, Forman. In 1492, Cholera, rabies, smallpox, yellow fever were rampant. Without modern medicine, industry, etc and with people stacked up in big city high rises, they would become rampant again.

You can bet the half of the US to be converted to an animal park is the Western Half – not the Eastern. It starts with places such as the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Not too many people live here. It you destroy their livelihoods and industry, they will leave on their own.

This is the philosophy behind the Elwha fiasco. Salmon is simply a word thrown in to get the backing of the public. But destroying the only spawning area for Elwha salmon certainly is not the way to enhance them. Forman’s dream is coming true. Do you like it?

Government has already torn up many forest roads. Bureaucrats are working to deny people water, insist on huge “buffer zones” for most everything. They like to call it “science”. But it has all the earmarks of religion. Real science is that which you can prove. Unproven theories can just as easily be religion as science.

For a dozen years bureaucrats working on unproven theories have denied us the use of a fabulous 70 acre piece of ground right next to the Port Angeles harbor. A few years ago, they denied us the valuable use of another large tract of waterfront property using the tribe as their excuse. The (so called) natives are simply immigrants who’s ancestors got here earlier than our European ancestors. Yet the WILD LANDS plan hints that maybe they will be allowed to stay in the great animal park to hunt with bow and arrow? I don’t think so. But, the idea is loaded with sentimentality – so they use it.

One interesting and revealing clue about the true philosophy of modern “animal rights activists” is their selection of the species they attribute rights to. They are nearly all predators. Early settlers battled hugely against predators. Predators killed their livestock and sometimes people. To encourage people with the necessary skills and weapons, they put bounties on wolves and other predatory creatures. And I recall from my youth, men I knew who made their living off those bounties. Today, those bounties have been replaced with fines and/or imprisonment if you do kill predators. All of that helps to discourage folks from living in the country and eliminates attractive species (deer, elk, mountain goats, etc)

I have video that shows salmon runs in the Elwha were excellent 50 years after the dams were built. Also video of the gorgeous Trumpeter Swans which visit the Elwha each winter – but not again after this coming one, and video showing the disgusting landscape and air full of rock dust when the upper lake was drawn down by only 10% back in the 90s. THE PERILS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Print, 2012 by Rene’ Holaday (Author)

“The Perils of Sustainable Development” is about “The United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda 21”, and how Sustainable Development plans to completely abolish things like private property rights, individual rights, air conditioning, driving of vehicles, rural living, meat consumption, livestock ownership, farming, logging, and much much more.

It is written in a way that makes it an “easy and a quick read” that will provide the reader with an instant basic outline of all the most important facts, so that you don’t have to spend years weeding through endless deceptive government documents and websites!

Six years of solid research has pulled together a complete picture of what the UN has in store for the United States, and what has already been covertly accomplished in our great nation. It is a compilation of all the most important facts and glaringly incriminating quotes.

It also supplies the reader with Resolution Templates and blueprint action plans that have already been successful in over 57 cities, counties, and two states in the USA. The reader can use these “blueprints” in order to start putting their own plans of action into progress in their own local areas to put a stop to these UN programs.

This book is also highly recommended for use by our elected officials, regardless of party affiliation.

If you enjoy your private property rights and other essential American values, this is a “must have” book that will show you what is going on and what we can do about it!

When deception has been the central theme of these UN programs, every American needs this information before it is too late for the entire nation.

It also contains multiple maps that outline affected areas, regional governance, and much more.

You will need to know- do you even know if you live in an area deemed by the UN to be a “Wildlife Corridor” that will allow little to no human use within the next few years?

(REAL NAME)    This review is from: The Perils of Sustainable
    Development (Perfect Paperback)

This book contains a wealth of information on the U.N. and their
Agenda-21/sustainable development. It discusses how Agenda-21 came to
be, the strategies and tactics used to implement it throughout the
U.S. and the world, and the ramifications for all of us if it is to
    succeed.

The book could make a stronger case for opposing Agenda-21. Just go
back to the USSR; to the mass starvation in the Ukraine, and many
other instances where government has taken control over the means of
food production, and you’ll see that giving government this kind of
power is akin to signing our own death warrants.

History has shown that the greatest prosperity for the largest number
of people comes about with freedom – and that every time freedom is
constrained, there is a comparable loss of prosperity. This is never
more important than when it comes to private property rights as the
core of freedom – for if Agenda-21 is fully implemented, you will
    starve – literally!

I highly recommend this book for those who want clear information on
the U.N. and their agenda to achieve a one-world government.

The book is well researched and easy to understand for the
nonpolitical person. If you don’t know anything about the United
Nations, how it was formed and why, then this is a must read.

Read how Agenda 21 which has been kept out of the media for years while it has been implemented in towns, cities and school districts across the
United States, all while the general population has been kept in the
    dark.

Like an octopus with powerful tentacles we are being choked out
of having our voices heard, regulations upon regulations applied to our
daily lives, and we are completely unaware how this is taking place.

I recommend this for every person in America, and especially for
teachers in order to reclaim our schools from the purposely dumbed
down curriculum being handed down from the federal level. They don’t
need educated people which are harder to control, they need workers.
Cities and schools, stop taking the federal money, they are
controlling you with the debt you are accumulating.

Anytime they want a ‘consensus’ on an issue instead of a vote by the majority, be suspicious! We have been manipulated to be ‘politically correct’, now
is the time to speak out.

Every solider who thinks they are serving America needs to read this
book, and know their services are in fact being indirectly directed by
    the United Nations.

America is crumbling from within and this easy to
read book explains how it has all been manufactured for us to fail.
The tentacles have grown long and strong while Americans have been
asleep, can we awake in time?

The Perils of Sustainable Development by Rene’ Holaday

In 2010 our study group consulted Rene’ Holaday when we were
struggling to understand the `why’s’ behind some of the current
    self-destructive U.S. governmental policies.

Rene’ Holaday’s extensive research is reflected in her 2012 book, The
Perils of Sustainable Development. Despite being encyclopedic in
scope, it was/is an easy read. As you zip thru the chapters, the book
provides the missing pieces of the puzzle and connects the dots of the
surreptitious convoluted United Nations Agenda to establish an all
    powerful one world government.

Completing Rene’s excellent work is the equivalent of taking a
university level course on UN Agenda 21. Personally, I have purchased
multiple copies of Rene’s book as loaner copies which are well
    received.

The UN Agenda 21 represents an under appreciated danger to our U.S.
Constitutional Republic and the American Dream. Only by core groups of
responsible, proactive citizens educating themselves on this
pernicious covert scheme of the radical Globalists, will we disrupt

Rene exposes what I found when researching why so much time, money and
effort were being spent to push the blatantly false science of Global
Warming. Sustainable Development, also known as Agenda 21, has
tentacles that reach deep into much of our government.
Environmentalism was the vehicle chosen by the UN to push this agenda
because it was a common thread amongst all countries of the world. The
ultimate goal of the agenda has nothing to do with the environment.
This deceptive agenda has infected our government under both parties
    and must be stopped!
    This is a must read.

The move to replace our Constitution with the principles behind the Wildlands Project, UN Agenda 21 and The Earth charter is an “American” issue, not a political one.  This agenda affects each and every one of us, stealing our liberty and our rights under the US and WA State Constitutions.

Article I, Section I of the State Constitution says:The Wildlands Project, UN Agenda 21, and The Earth Charter:

These three concepts  are The Triune That Would Steal Our Liberty blend together for a common purpose.

That purpose: To control our lives in every area.

by definition: Triune consisting of three in one (used especially with reference to the Trinity)

Educate your elected representatives, and put the heat on them at every turn to do the right thing – get rid of these anti-American ideas that have infiltrated our government agencies.  A couple of good books to help in this effort include: Print, 2012  The Perils of Sustainable Development by Rene Holaday, and Behind the Green Mask Publication date: 09/02/2011 by Rosa Koire (who founded Democrats against UN Agenda 21), both available through Amazon.com.

Nov 3, 2015The University of California at Davis Library has placed the book, BEHIND THE GREEN MASK: Democrats against UN Agenda 21, in its Political Right Wing Pamphlet Collection.

Rather than holding the book in its open stacks, the book is for use within the library only, and is held within a larger Radical Pamphlet Collection. This obviously indicates to any student who would read it that the book is considered to be a radical, dangerous, conspiracy book that is only to be read as an example of something that goes against the values of sane, intelligent university-goers.

Nov 3, 2015 – The LWCF Program provides matching grants to States and local … protection and maintenance of recreation resources across the United States. … of $42.8 million from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to all 50 States, …

The United States’ Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is a Federal program that was established by Act of Congress in 1965 to provide funds and matching grants to federal, state and local governments for the acquisition of land and water, and easements on land and water, for the benefit of all Americans.[1]

The main emphases of the fund are recreation and the protection of national natural treasures in the forms of parks and protected forest and wildlife areas.

The LWCF has a broad-based coalition of support and oversight, including the National Parks Conservation Association, Environment America, The Wilderness Society, the Land Trust Alliance, and the Nature Conservancy.
The primary source of income to the fund is fees paid to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement by companies drilling offshore for oil and gas. Congress regularly diverts most of the funds from this source to other purposes, however. Additional minor sources of income include the sale of surplus federal real estate and taxes on motorboat fuel.

Funds from the Land and Water Conservation Fund have been utilized over the years on projects both large and small. LWCF has helped state agencies and local communities acquire nearly seven million acres (28,000 km²) of land and easements controlling further land, developed project sites including such popular recreational areas as Harper’s Ferry in West Virginia, California’s Big Sur Coast, and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in Montana, helped maintain Yellowstone National Park, and helped to build and maintain “thousands of local playgrounds, soccer fields, and baseball diamonds.”
Though LWCF is authorized with a budget cap of $900 million annually, this cap has been met only twice during the program’s nearly four decades of existence.[citation needed] As of 2015 the program generated about $2.5 million a day from leases on offshore oil and gas drilling.
The program is divided into two distinct funding pools: state grants and federal acquisition funds. The distribution formula takes into account population density and other factors.
On the federal side, each year, based on project demands from communities as well as input from the federal land management agencies,

THE PRESIDENT MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO CONGRESS REGARDING FUNDING FOR SPECIFIC LWCF PROJECTS.

In Congress, these projects go through an Appropriations Committee review process. Given the intense competition among projects, funding is generally only provided for those projects with universal support.

Initially authorized for a twenty-five-year period, the LWCF has been extended for another twenty-five years, its current mandate running until January 2015.

As of October 2015, describing it as a “slush fund”, Rob Bishop (R)  of Utah, chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, had blocked a vote on reauthorization.

Congress lets sun set on Land and Water Conservation Fund
The nation’s most successful conservation program is in jeopardy.

Jodi Peterson Oct. 1, 2015 Web Exclusive

In July, Montanans celebrated the addition of 8,200 acres, known as Tenderfoot Creek, to the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Most of the $10.7 million cost was paid for by the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, which uses oil and gas royalties for conservation and recreation projects.
But yesterday, the 50-year-old fund, widely viewed as one of the nation’s most popular and most successful land conservation programs, was allowed to expire completely. Despite broad bipartisan support, and despite a deadline that was no surprise to anyone, Congress failed to take action to reauthorize it.

That means that offshore oil and gas producers will no longer be paying into the chest that funds the program —

and now that the funding connection has been broken, reinstating it will be very difficult, especially given the tone of this CONGRESS. INSTEAD, LAWMAKERS WILL BE DICKERING OVER HOW TO DIVVY UP FORMER LWCF APPROPRIATIONS, WHICH WILL NOW BE GOING INTO THE GENERAL TREASURY.

    ————————————————–
Earlier this summer, dozens of representatives on both sides of the aisle had signed a letter in support of the perpetually underfunded program, WHICH HAS CONSERVED MORE THAN SEVEN MILLION ACRES SO FAR.

LWCF PURCHASES WILDLIFE HABITAT, BUYS PRIVATE INHOLDINGS WITHIN WILDERNESSES AND NATIONAL PARKS,

PRESERVES cultural heritage sites, provides public access for fishing and hunting, and pays for urban parks, playgrounds and ballfields.

(The Center for Western Priorities created an interactive map showing how LWCF has made national parks whole by paying to buy inholdings from private landowners.) And if put to a straight-up vote, reauthorization would pass both the House and Senate with bipartisan majorities.
The sunsetting of the LWCF was greeted with dismay by conservationists and by many of the legislators from both parties who have long supported it, including Republican Sen. Steve Daines and Rep. Ryan Zinke of Montana. At a Tuesday breakfast organized by the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers in support of LWCF, Daines said, “I personally don’t think Rob (Bishop’)s view, and others have said this, necessarily reflects probably where most of the conference is now.”
Rep. Raúl Grijalva, D-Arizona had some scathing words for the House in a statement: “You can see just how extreme some House Republicans really are when a popular conservation program with a spotless, fifty-year history of bipartisan reauthorization expires thanks to their partisan games. They can’t pass a highway bill, they can’t fund the government, they’re still struggling with a defense bill, and now they insist that LWCF funding has to stop.”
Congress is authorized to allocate up to $900 million annually to LWCF, not from taxpayers’ dollars but from royalties paid by energy companies drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf.

It rarely gives the fund anywhere close to that, though, and in recent years has sent about two-thirds of the allocation to the general treasury. As a result, the program has accumulated a $20 billion IOU, which Rep. Bishop cites as a reason not to continue funding it. But that money isn’t just lying around waiting to be spent, explains Mary Hollow, executive director of Montana-based Prickly Pear Land Trust, in the Helena Independent Record: “This is a paper account with nothing in it — there are only cobwebs,” she said. “The $20 billion has already been spent — diverted to fund other things … it’s inaccurate and unrealistic to think that if LWCF expires and we lose our authorization and revenue source that it would be business as usual.”
So what’s likely to happen next? “This is a sad day for everyone who cares about our national parks and outdoor conservation, recreation and wildlife.

Congress has broken an enduring promise to the American people,” said Alan Rowsome, senior director at the Wilderness Society and co-chair of the Land and Water Conservation Fund Coalition, in a statement.

But the coalition, the outdoor recreation industry, other conservation groups, and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers aren’t just mourning the program’s loss — they’ll be kicking efforts into high gear to get the LWCF reauthorized as quickly as possible.
And Congressional supporters are looking for those opportunities. Sen. Daines told the breakfast meeting that reauthorization has “a higher probability if we attach it to another piece of legislation,”

so they’ll be looking for some piece of must-pass legislation before the end of the year, like the omnibus spending bill or a highway and transportation bill. He and Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana, have also cosponsored legislation introduced by Sen. Richard Burr, R-North Carolina, that permanently reauthorizes the program, and Tester cosponsored a bill that goes farther, locking in the full appropriation of $900 million so it can’t be siphoned off for other uses.

Rep. Grijalva and Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick co-sponsored a permanent reauthorization bill as well. When introducing it, Grijalva said, “Drawing out the uncertainty over the program’s funding every few years serves no one, especially when our constituents so strongly believe in the LWCF’s mission and value to the country. We should make it permanent, avoid prolonged budget battles and

get back to the business of protecting our natural spaces.

Anything less is a disservice to the legacy of Teddy Roosevelt and the generations of Americans who gave us the many beautiful American landscapes we enjoy today.”

The sinister Department of Interior failed again, earlier this year, in another attempted LAND GRAB, but this time it was in Virginia under a proposed Heritage Area called Crooked Road National Heritage Area 19 COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN VIRGINIA WERE TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA. This sure sounds like the deception that went on with the National Blueway System all over again.

YREKA — Some 300 people showed up at a hearing in Yreka on Thursday night to comment on the state’s draft Gray Wolf Conservation Plan.
Most of those who spoke represented ranching and hunting groups from Siskiyou County who were concerned about the wolves’ return to California.
“I don’t want a wolf kill on my place,” said Ryan Walker, a Siskiyou County rancher, referring to wolves killing cattle. “I need to know where the wolves are.”
The conservation plan attempts to manage the growing number of wolves that have showed up in the state during the past year.
The state Department of Fish and Wildlife plan analyzes where wolves are likely to live in the state, what they will prey on, how they will affect livestock ranchers and humans. The state is also holding conservation plan meetings in Sacramento and Long Beach.
This past summer, fish and wildlife biologists documented the state’s first pack in more than 80 years. DNA analysis of the wolves’s droppings indicate they came from the Imnaha pack in northeast Oregon.
Many of the ranchers who spoke Thursday urged the state to put radio collars on the wolves so they can take steps to protect their cattle.
Patrick Griffin, a wolf consultant for Siskiyou County, said after a calf was killed, ranchers wanted to know where the wolves were so they could prevent another death.
“After the incident on the east side of the county, it would have been nice to know where the wolves have gone,” Griffin said.
The DFW’s Eric Loft told the crowd that getting the wolves collared is a high priority. However, state officials need to locate the wolves before they can collar them.
“We’ve lost track of the Shasta Pack. We don’t know where they are,” said Karen Kovacs, a program manager for the department.
Fish and wildlife officials said wolves probably killed a calf in Siskiyou County in November. Kovacs urged those in the audience to notify the department when they see a wolf or any evidence of one.
Mark Baird, a leader in the State of Jefferson movement, said he suspects the wolves are being trucked into the state, and he and others are looking for evidence.
But Loft denied that and said he, too, would like to see evidence of anyone in the fish and wildlife department trucking in wolves.
Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey said he was concerned about wolves harming people, as well as the economic impact wolves will have on ranchers.
“I’m very, very concerned, and so are my fellow sheriffs, both inside and outside California,” Lopey said.
Rich Klug, with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, said he was concerned about how wolves would affect elk herds. He said there are only about 7,000 elk in Northern California. If wolf packs grow too numerous, they could greatly reduce the numbers of elk, which are wolves’ primary source of food, he said.
About a half-dozen people also spoke in favor of wolves. Karin Vardaman of the California Wolf Center said she was eager to work with ranchers and state officials to prevent cattle deaths.
“We have no desire to see cattle die,” Vardaman said.
